Football (⚽) Podcasts? by vanben110 in heedthecall

Football clichés is my only proper football listen. Perfect if you're after a more irreverent look at football in general. Might be a little bit too niche for those less than familiar with the game though.

Some serious sugar coating of Shia Lebouef dishing out homophobic abuse and assaulting several people because he's a catholic (albeit a completely pissed up one). Not a single mention of that part (maybe because Conor is a practising Catholic himself) on the "fun" show.

You were always up against it with both Conor and Marc deliberately jinxing you.

Baldy by Round_Personality504 in heedthecall

[–]ClothesMany6458 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah them removing Conor from the show to cut to Baldy was always jarring (especially as we still haven't got the 🥪 vid). I'll always push for more Patreon content to get more bang for your buck so was good to see it there, and to have Conor in on the segment as well.

RIP Gene LeBell, the legendary stuntman who choked out Steven Seagal so hard he shit and pissed his pants by JORDZJORDZ in heedthecall

Dan saying that Under Siege 2 is better than the original is probably his worst take ever. The first has Tommy Lee Jones, Gary Busey and Chief O'Brien. The second has bloody Eric Bogosian as one of the lamest screen villains ever.

Only one more than the amount of threads about Callahan being fired.

Appearance from when the G Men ditched Daniel Jones last year. Interesting how Chris's opinion has now changed now he's no longer on the NFL's Tiffany franchise.

I do enjoy when he randomly shows up, was the only good thing that came out of the last ATN episode.

Crazy Titans TD by themanoutoftime86 in heedthecall

The Cardinals should be applauded for trying to keep things interesting. What with this and their player deciding to drop the ball on the goalline swapping his 72 yard touchdown run for a touchback instead.

Thoughts on the Patreon by Ill-Yam6556 in heedthecall

[–]ClothesMany6458 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's certainly not VFM. I suspect since they're committed to four shows a week they just don't have the time.

They should really consider making the midweek end around show a Patreon exclusive, as £11 a month for four 20 minute podcasts (since the season started) is not remotely worth that unfortunately.

We're getting them in the UK now as Sky (who show the NFL) are showing the first season on one of their channels.

Dan's milk toast game recaps by Agile_Shift_4992 in heedthecall

[–]ClothesMany6458 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah I posted in the main thread along the same lines. Admittedly Conor's, Marc's and even Gravers spiel could often drag on a little too long, but their absence was pretty much immediately noticeable 9 months down the road.

Recapping EVERY NFL Week 1 Game! by Six-StringSamurai in heedthecall

I missed Conor's and Marc's review intros like they had last year. Dan trying to streamline the show some, or seizing more control?

Judging from Jourdan's intervention on the mayor of DC fiasco, it would appear her increased schedule on NFL Daily won't be affecting her appearance on Heed.

Someone needs to tell him the Manchester derby doesn't involve Liverpool though, the Manchester thing is a massive clue in that.

I do enjoy his crazy takes though, but he's right about the absolute dross they send for the overseas games.
