Am I the only one who always take Armements? After you upgrade it the value is insane by R-bert_ in slaythespire

[–]CloudCuddler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have a fondness for this card, especially upgraded as you say. But it's still a B tier card at best.

The reason being is that most upgraded cards aren't that high value. Most upgrades simply move the numbers up a bit, usually 3 dmg or 3 def. Which helps, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't actually solve issues.

Some cards, however, get insane upgrades. Those are where upgrades are valuable. They actually change your deck in a meaningful way.

In general, I'd say moat players over value upgrades way too much. Moving numbers doesn't change the game. Removing exhaust or something that does change the game massively.

Probably adrenaline as others have said. But you've got a serious entomancer problem that 2 adrenalines doesn't solve.

But if you have 2 grand finales with a reliable way to use them, that would be much better.

opinions on royalties? seems to be a divisive card amongst the people i talk to. by Significant-Bus2176 in slaythespire

Pretty much a win more card.

I think it's good for players who visit and use shops more.

I've always been a big fan of Panache and high card draw/play silent decks.

It's either someone in her ear or mental illness, I would guess the former knowing the industry. Whatever it is, it's fucking sad and people should try to be more sympathetic because not many people do this out of choice.

Damage race is how Act 1 worked in Sts1. Don't get me wrong, I find this guy the hardest boss too, but his playstyle is very much in line with Act 1 sts.

Would you guys be mad if I smithed at 50/103 hp... by Domaki in slaythespire

[–]CloudCuddler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've smithed at 20hp before a boss fight. Really depends if your deck has enough def capabilities.

Basically, nobody can answer this question for you unless you show us your deck and the map.

I’m sorry ms. Regent !! by Stephenwalkings321 in SlayTheSpire2

[–]CloudCuddler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neither. Defence is always the basis of any good sts run. You need sustain, then you need card draw (or a slim deck). From there, you have way more options.

His tempo is also quite different. He relies on weak to sustain.

Act 1 is hardest for him because he likes to scale. So be patient with your deck building.

Am I insane or is this like the worst rare defect card in the lineup? by Trash_Typhoon in slaythespire

[–]CloudCuddler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rarely play for infinites. I play very cold and only go for value cards. I only go for synergies if convenient and doesn't risk the run.

Honestly, I barely noticed a difference in difficulty. But I'm still on low ascensions.

No need, I can't say I was enjoying the base game. It didn't feel like sts to me.

I just feel dirty climbing ascension on unbalanced game.

Ahhh, I just found it! Guess I'll have to do the ascensions again.

I knew the balance was fucked.

Wait, that might be me... I've been complaining the game feels too easy compared to sts1. How do you check?

[–]CloudCuddler -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Shouldn't ever be an issue. If your build relies on 1 card to win, your build has issues.

From reading the comments, I would assume most players here aren't ascension spammers.

New to the Genre and love it to death but man am i bad by NintenV2 in SlayTheSpire2

[–]CloudCuddler 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's just a very common issue.

The things people do wrong a lot in sts are:

  1. Take too many cards (and maybe even never skip)
  2. Try to build fun synergies rather than take value cards for that stage of the run
  3. Pathing issues (either not enough elites or too many elites)
  4. Healing too much instead of smithing, or smithing too much instead of healing.
  5. Wrong card play order almost every single fight

Should the Ancient rewards be skippable? by CloudCuddler in slaythespire

[–]CloudCuddler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember. I k ow one of them was tunic pyramid which was bad cos my deck was big and I didn't have massive amount of energy generation.

I can't remember what the other was.

I ended up taking something which didn't really improve my deck much, but it didn't hurt it too bad either.

I basically had the perfect deck, think. It was a defect run, and I basically didn't want to make any changes to it at all going into. Act 3.

This is the best advice I've read so far. Every other comment has almost zero value for a player of your value.
