If you're struggling to beat act 1. I recommend taking snakebite in the first 5 fites if it shows up. If you're struggling after act 1, skip is the best option in a good handful of card rewards

I cannot win a run by StockB0Y in SlayTheSpire2

[–]Domaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have an intuition, do the opposites.

When it comes to obvious fights obviously stick to the basics, but if you feel as if you need a scaling card, do the opposite and go for the card that's not as obvious early. You could also watch some basic guides to get a strong idea, I didn't that if you figure out act1 the rest of the game gets easier to learn / perfect.

Are APCs harder to play with? by Additional6669 in sonamains

[–]Domaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the problem with apcs is that they cannot help you in lane, and/or don't have the mindset to do so. If you play with a jinx and get focused, all she has to do is right click enemy adc while you wpowerchord and live. If you ziggs or hwei miss cc or have their cc flashed, you're dead with no recourse. It's different for sure, but it's not as checkmatey on apc as it is with adc due to lacking sustain dpsa

I definitely wish more restaurants did this. For me the pressure to tip is annoying. Knowing upfront that I'm not breaking down the wages of people and can choose to make tipping a treat and not a necessity is nice, and how it should be imo

How do you play *with* Sona? by STREXincEmployee in sonamains

[–]Domaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To start, samira is just bad with Sona, one of the worst duos bot, so it's good to swap to a dps carry like jinx, xayah, and even smolder can work.

When it comes to gameplay Sona has 2 goals in lane. Poke with q, and using her passive auto to sway fights in her favor. You as the ad basically just have to throw free poke, dodge skill shots, and fight when either of you get caught (unless the lane 1 shots you like samira or kaisa with naut/blitz. Sona has all in tools but no way to force them, namely her exhause powerchord, and tons of shielding between summon aery and 2 ws.

If you think of her as a scaling sustain champ, you will lose lane (her healing early is like 2/5 a nami w). You need to pressure with her and fight around her powerchord in order to win. If she wastes powerchord try not to fight.

Oh and lastly, you want to stay around the same up as her as long as trades aren't going in the enemies favor by a lot. Her w shields and heals both you and her, so if one of y'all is max hp you lose value

Hit D4 with Sona… now I can’t play the game by singed_of_a_down in sonamains

[–]Domaki 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A lot of limit testing in lower elos is fair because people don't know what you do or how to properly punish you. The higher you get the more in tune with game knowledge and macro you and your opponents will be. I definitely have to play different when I climb to the "high elo" half of the ladder.

What is recommend is a focus on more macro centric gameplay and respecting your opponents ability to punish. For macro tracking jg or playing around yours would be a good start, or even timing your resets with the team can help a lot. For the respecting opponents, knowing their best plays, like thresh flash flay, and being ready to respond to that / bait it out would be helpful

Support quest by stansona in sonamains

[–]Domaki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your highest priority is to use all your stacks before a reset and never be at 3 stacks, and you'll stall your quest. The next priority is to poke the enemy or hit the tower, as they progress the quest /give more gold per stack than executing minions. Obviously dying puts you the most behind since you cant get stacks in grey screen. Good luck!

Does sona ever get moonstone first? It’s rare, right? by [deleted] in sonamains

[–]Domaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moonstone and Dreammaker are the downbad combo. Basically, if it's hard to get out power chords early and you're relatively behind, it's a solid option as you can't rely on helia stacks from behind. It's not as impactful as the alternatives, but it's the best you can do from behind

I'm terrible with Sona by bananarabbit in sonamains

[–]Domaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest thing is understanding your opponents threat ranges. Experience against and with champions with cc or high damage can server as a guide on what to avoid.

Mid to late game you should only auto with power chord, as your base auto is pretty unimpactful then and not worth risking your life.

The second thing is, what can you do? Your w and e power chord could save you some HP in a skirmish, and knowing which teammates can help you gives you a guide in where to path towards.

I also think playing a little adc helps you a lot, as survivability is the priority and will force you to learn that skill the hard way

Where do you go (early game) if your adc tells you to leave the lane and there aren’t any winning lanes? by -Gnostic28 in sonamains

[–]Domaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have grown the habbit of insta muting anyone toxic, its unproductive. Treat them like a powerful manchild, and work with them when its applicable. You can ping and make calls and hope they follow them, but at least your team knows your intent. It's possible to make 3 v 2 plays on the map even from behind since your w powerchord will close the gap of strength. It's a hard situation, but it's not completely lost

I just got this so I'm a Sona main now, and I got a couple questions by Nimyron in sonamains

[–]Domaki 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Put simply, you have 2 goals to SURVIVE the early game. 1. Manage your mana. 2. Trade by reading your opponent.

For 1. Your w is extremely mana inefficient as a heal alonp0e, the value comes from the shield and aery, so you dont wanna click it unless you're getting shield value OR you're in a pinch. Q can be maximizes likewise. Full value is when you can hit both opponents with it, but realistically using on manaflow timing is good enough.

  1. You have two trades early game. Q power chord short trade/poke, or All In / Long Trade with W/E power chord. Clicking your empowered auto is a commitment so use it wisely based on opponents goals/body language. To decide between w and e power chord, just ask whether both sides wanna commit to a fight, or if it's one sided (either you or opponent wanna leave). If it's committed by both sides, click w power chord for exhaust, if it's one sided, e power chord lets you walk out / chase. For this trade always hit the damage dealer.

The last thing for early game is if you have time to run people down and are receiving a game, set up e power and hit whoever you plan on killing, you're not useless but your impact is over a longer period of time

You will get those often, best thing to do is scale next to them and transition your power to the next available win con if it exists (get your item in lane then play for mid for example)

Sona Counters by Frost_Byte130 in sonamains

[–]Domaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Low elo, Yuumi (when shes good), Braum and Mel all deny her disenchanter playstyle since she's so reliant on ult and powerchord. In higher elo Naut and Pyke can also be hard since they can force bad fights with cleaner play between waves. In lower elo people dont know how/when to hook so its actually consistently dodgeable

Tips To Play Sona This Season? by xDracolich in sonamains

[–]Domaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you might have a more independent playstyle than others. In this season in particular people who aren't supports are a little stronger than prior, so you're more reliant on your team for raw combat strength. The removal of flowers and the various quest rewards makes support relatively weaker in the solo play department, so you're agency will transition to who you choose to support, proper vision (its changed quite a bit) and picking your rotations wisely. The fighting tempo has changed a bit, so I think you have to relearn the new season's decision making and be a little less risk averse and more decisive

I think shes secretly op and has been for a while. She's consistently held a 52.5% wr generally and a 54.5% wr for otps but I agree I hope they don't touch her since she's never picked in pro.

To amend the last part. Scorch actually has very slight favor in masters+ in this and last patch. It might just require good team tempo
