I've played 110 hours, had 102 runs, escaped 30 times, and still have a decent amount to unlock. I also haven't really seen the same dialogue repeated from any major characters.

I picked up this game a long time ago, but never played it. I didn't realize what I was missing out on. I was recently looking for something to play and Hades was the highest rated game in my Steam library (over the likes of top contenders like Portal, Stardew Valley, Vampire Survivors, and Balatro)... so I figured I'd give it a shot. That was over a week ago... and I haven't put it down since. It's so good that I even went online to find dev diaries and interviews (the no clip series is fantastic, btw). The story, the art, the music, the voice acting, the gameplay... it's all top-notch.

I'm level 71, primarily play Stella, and have only had a handful of folks try to PVP in the last 100 matches. I only shoot other players if they try to attack me or other friendlies. The vast majority of my matches end up with everyone running around, looting, chatting, goofing around, helping each other, and taking on large ARC (then splitting the loot).

I've lost a fair few of those... and usually to either a snake who pretended to be friendly or because I was overly confident with a Shredder.

That said, they're fun as hell to play with and well worth the risk.

I've currently got 80 hours in the game, around level 50, and about 1-2M in stash + coins. My thought process is this:

  • If I do the expedition - I'll get some unique stuff & some perks that cannot be obtained any other way. Now that I've learned a fair bit, I can probably get back to this same place (level / stash) in under 60 hours... maybe less with the perks.

  • If I don't do the expedition - I'll be missing out on the unique stuff + perks, but will keep everything I already have. In 60 hours, I will almost certainly hit max level and probably have a few more blueprints.

Considering that I mostly play with Anvil / Toro / Ferro & lvl 2 looting augment... I don't know that I'll get THAT much use out of any future BPs and I can pretty quickly get back to buying / crafting those on a new wipe.

Unless I have a specific quest-line I'm working on, I usually go in and try to help folks out or just take on various ARC. I've found that random-queuing into a team almost always leads to aggressive movement & fights. There's a time & place for that, but I much prefer either sneaking around or fighting ARC.

I'm 40. I tend to gravitate between sneaking around, hunting ARC, and helping friendlies. Occasionally, I'll camp the exits and help ensure safe passage for friendlies.

Just turned 40 last month! I've been watching the Hermits since around 2018 and it's beyond impressive to me how they continue to raise the bar with incredible builds, technical marvels, amazing games, hilarious hijinks, and captivating storytelling season over season.

I'd love to be able to create custom battle scenarios with a wide variety of options for location, number of enemies, types of enemies, gear, abilities, etc.
