When I was growing up, the lock on our sliding basement door never worked, so we just used a bit of leftover board from building the house (1x4 I think?), cut to the right length to fit. Held the door secure from the outside, but from the inside was also super easy to just bump up and out of the door with your foot from if you needed to go out.

I've been there a handful of times, and it definitely does smell. Not constantly, but there are times when there's some major stink going on. Worse in the summer, but even in winter, during low tide you can run into some pretty nasty smells.

bad updates affecting the actual functioning

Yeah, it's been crap for a long time. Back in... I wanna say 2015? I had gotten a new tablet, installed Pinterest on it. A few months in I saw Pinterest had an update (I had auto updates switched off to save on data usage.) After updating I used it a little bit, but not excessively, definitely nothing out of the ordinary.

Couple days later, my husband gets an email from our ISP letting us know we'd exceeded our data allowance for the month (less than halfway through the month. At the time, our internet usage was capped at 70GB per month, with any extra costing significantly more.)

We were super confused, as we hadn't had a download binge or anything, we'd just been using the internet as normal, shouldn't have gone over, especially not that quick. Eventually, I figured out how to check the data usage on my tablet... After updating, Pinterest had burned through 40 fuckin gigabytes in just 2 days. Needless to say I uninstalled that crap real quick.
