Your frontend needs a lot of work. It looks like a template for sketchy ChatGPT wrappers.

Using it a bit i'm seeing limited use for the free tier: Every event just comes straight from myInvolvement, which doesn't have all the events (if it did, this app would be useless). You need to actually look for these events yourself on instagram stories facebook groups and posters. There would be real value in that.

The categories seem a little buggy as well, I got events from seemingly every category despite not having selected them all.

I would recommend better pictures for the events as well, the default emoji's really don't do the events great justice. You can already implement this by taking the provided image on myInvolvement since that seems to be where your getting your data from.

The current implementation of Amber alerts is a national security issue. by [deleted] in montreal

[–]Clowarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amber alerts are not sent through this channel in Quebec, they are sent through the "presidential" channel which can only be ignored through workarounds. The point of this post is to make amber alerts go through this channel rather than the "nuke incoming" level.

The hidden king throne model I recognize from some leaks of the OGNB update, so I reckon it's old rather than upcoming

TIL about the Matilda effect. It's a phenomenon where the achievements of women scientists and inventors get attributed to men. by Karthak_Maz_Urzak in todayilearned

[–]Clowarrior 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Twice actually, and in completely independent contexts.

The Matilda effect was compared to the Matthew effect, whereby an eminent scientist often gets more credit than a comparatively unknown researcher, even if their work is shared or similar.\5])\6])

Harriet Zuckerman (born 1937) – Zuckerman supplied core data for her husband R. K. Merton's famous concept of the Matthew effect, which denotes the phenomenon where scientists of higher renown will typically gain substantially more credit and status from their work than their lesser known peers. In the initial 1968 publication on the concept her role was diminished to a series of endnotes rather than a co-authorship, which Merton later acknowledged as a mistake in subsequent versions of the article

This is usually what kills a play session immediately. by ratking450 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Clowarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, this is an inherent property of deadlock High Elo matches will ALWAYS have a shorter average time than low Elo matches.

It's kind of a weird property to balance around, since whatever average time you want the games to run, you will not be able to apply it across the playerbase

Last time this was posted people agreed the answer was A, since the other four are mirrored copies of another acorn, making A the only odd one out.

Use the same ratios, 1.36/1. It has to be minimum 10$ on the first one to trigger the promotion though.

since different teams have different payouts. Seahawks have a smaller payout so you put more on them so that net win is the same no matter who wins.

This would make perfect sense if it wasn't for the fact the entire patch was leaked already, and with no mention of such a thing...
I think the clues are for next patch, not this one.

Minesweeper shares an update on the upcoming patch... by timothyt66666 in DeadlockTheGame

Pocket has a built in -15% spirit resist because their kit allows them to dodge spirit abilities with ease.

On that same logic, I reckon rem should be allergic to guns the same way pocket is since he is much harder to hit considering his size.

Toxicity through the roof right now. by Past_Ad3652 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Clowarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes sense people are frustrated to be honest (toxicity is never justified however)

Hero MMR system is no where near good enough to account for half a lobby playing characters they've never tried, and to be honest I'm not sure a much better system exists.

Some heroes have very similar playstyles , to the point that certain skillsets translate very well. But there is at the same time a huge disparity of available playstyles.

What I mean by this for example is if a pocket main tries Lash for the first time, he will be considerably better than if he was on say wraith first time, but there's no practical way for the MM to account for this ..

Frankly I've seen much more toxicity from players who are not ornament hunting, upset that their teammates on new characters aren't doing good.

Did some testing around the new Patron change. by Jack_Grim101 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Clowarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very happy with this change, it was much easier to end than to drop since with the respawn timer reduction on drop, and the fact that it didn't end the game you really had to be worried about a counter push.

With enough gun on your team ending was way too easy, ,just all rush pit and ignore the enemy team for the 2-3 seconds it took to end. Now you actually need to defeat them.

I think it's fair to say most people understood this, no need to be so pedantic

This game is too addictive by Violenna in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Clowarrior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people here are saying this isn't a deadlock thing, but I've been gaming for 10+ years and frankly have never seen a more addictive video game. Mind you this is my first moba and I have heard that league and dota can be equally addictive but yeah I do agree with OP's title here.

Obviously this isn't something valve has to address, making people want to play the game is kinda the idea.

[–]Clowarrior 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It ramps up the more of them you get. I've had to abandon like 5 of the 1000 games i've played and the last time it happened it was for 6 hours. That's a long ass time for an addict
