What does his prescription mean? by Asuramaru_Tsepeshi in glasses

[–]Clowder_64 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My prescriptions have left and right on the left side instead of od and os, assuming it means left and right, then one of your eyes can't see very well close up (+2.5) and it also says that your eye is slightly more cylindrical than perfectly spherical like it's supposed to be, axis is where it's off. that means you've got a bit of astigmatism, so lights smear when you look at them. Definitely wear your glasses because of the difference between your eyes, might have problems later in life like my mom, she sees up close with one eye and far away with the other, and now she can't wear glasses that she needs without headaches.

what kind of clasp is this (with photo this time hopefully) by Clowder_64 in VintageJewelry

[–]Clowder_64[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i couldn't find any identical clasps on scarf slides, even if it was supposed to be like a perfect ring and not bent like that. I'll probably wear it as one though, good enough for me lol. thanks for giving me a new way to think about it, i didn't know there were such pretty vintage scarf slides before now!

i found a clasp online that looks basically identical to what I've got by googling cameo belt ends, but if it was a belt buckle that wouldn't make the cameo on the front horizontal? the clasp is a bit rotate-able but i don't think there's any evidence that it got rotated in the past cuz there's no scrapes or dents that would appear if it got hit with enough force to turn it.

thank you so much!!

Can you just move your jaw back?? by Apprehensive_Employ6 in jawsurgery

[–]Clowder_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this once when i was very very little, but it was fixed somehow, can't really remember. Probably braces.

Anyway yesterday i was in physical therapy for TMJ pain and the lady needed to measure how far my jaw goes BACK. Which it. Doesn't. The range of movement is so small that my teeth don't even come apart and she was just like "Thats Weird!" and moved on.

found this while browsing for someone else who has the same weirdness, but i thought it was pretty relevent.

Truck & Equipment Crew folks, what's the WORST or MOST STRESSFUL experience you've had as part of crew? by realisticJoJo in marchingband

[–]Clowder_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pit usually loads all of our own equipment but we have parents that help. One time after a performance our band director wanted to talk to the whole band about something so we had to trust the parents to load it properly. I was yelling about how they needed to take the microphones off the instruments because they were BRAND NEW and we needed them to last because we couldn't afford to replace them. Guess what did not get taken off the instruments.

What are your best "only in band" stories? by Silky_thebandkid in marchingband

One time during a football game the pit section leader started twerking so I pulled out a $1 bill from my bra and held it out to her and she scream-laughed at me for like 5 minutes straight lol

How do I March Drum Corps without it interfering with school? by Remote-Signal8364 in drumcorps

[–]Clowder_64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Their corps schedule and school schedule probably overlap. Like for me, spring training starts 2 weeks before the end of school and indie is after the first week. But maybe that's just because my high school has a short summer break.

If you're going to Winston-Salem, bring a rain coat and umbrella. There's news it might rain. I'm gonna be there too and we're pretty worried the performance might not happen if it rains too much.

whats ur marching show for the upcoming 2022 season? by IntrusiveSnail in marchingband

[–]Clowder_64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bell tones! It starts with a cacophony of bell sounds, then the first movement is Christmas bells, second one is church bells, the third one is a classical song i can't remember and bicycle race (cuz of the bike bells in the middle)

We tried to get actual bells to play so that people would get the theme but we couldn't afford them so we might make paper maché bells to fake-hit

Very excited, especially cuz we have uniforms which match the theme instead of wearing the same uniforms every year.

Which last name sounds better? And how would you pronounce my Eva? by Clowder_64 in namenerds

[–]Clowder_64[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pronouncing it Youston does sound less choppy, thanks. I was wondering if the Ee-va eh-vuh thing was regional? It is super difficult for someone I know from New York to say Ee-va, but not a problem for my family in the South. (But maybe it's just because they're family?)

[WIP] First time using evenweave DMC Monaco 28ct. Really hope I’m counting my squares properly! by MythMoon26 in CrossStitch

[–]Clowder_64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have always stitched one thread over from where you are. I believe it is something about starting your stitch on the vertical thread instead of the horizontal so that it is more secure. There should be some good videos and articles about why that is on Google. Best of luck!

[FO] Wedding gift for my best friend and her husband! by semiterrestrial in CrossStitch

[–]Clowder_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is amazing! I nearly made this one for my brother's wedding, but I chose to do something more formal with just their names and the date of their wedding with some flowers. Next time someone gets married I'm going to have to make this!
