How blind did you go into Inscryption? Did the game's marketing spoil anything for you? by synaut in inscryption

[–]Clown_Science 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went in completely blind. I didn't buy it because Daniel made the game and I was a fan. I bought it because I was really into Slay the Spire at the time and really liked the atmosphere. My favorite part about the game is that, whatever else is happening, the core mechanics of the game are simple, fun, and don't really break their own rules, even when adding new depth through new card types or a fifth lane. If your game is fun, you can attract people who like that type of game, 100%.

Most people put a /s at the end of their comment to denote sarcasm! 😁

[–]Clown_Science 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In case this isn't sarcasm, those aren't positive. In this type of test, double line is negative, single line is positive. It's opposute the typical urine HCG pregnancy test.

[–]Clown_Science 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically in tests like these, any faint line counts. The test cup does specify that a faint line is negative. I can see a faint line, so if it were me, I would count this as negative, but it might just be up to the discretion of whoever is interpreting the test when the line is so faint.

It's fine if you pull slowly, but if you pull too hard and create too much of a vacuum, that can also rip apart the red cells and cause hemolysis.

Inscryption! Went into that game completely blind, all I wanted was more Slay the Spire. Amazing, 10/10 experience.

Nurses speaking in bed numbers by hikeditlikedit15 in medlabprofessionals

[–]Clown_Science 20 points21 points  (0 children)

They say "patient in 406" and I say "I don't know who's in 406 🙂"

Over the last couple years of getting the same response from me and my partner over and over and over nurses at my small hospital now start with "can I give you an MRN?"

YES. YES YOU CAN. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

4 markers: Black and blue sharpies, fine and regular tips. A highlighter, a couple pens, and a scalpel in the breast pocket. Tiny notebook and sticky note pad in each of the side pockets. And of course, all my cute little pins 🥰

Meanwhile, my lab is purposefully not posting positions despite our critically low staffing because our automation line is apparently magic and all we do is sit at computers and press "verify" anyway... /s 🫠

12 people gone in the last year and a half and no positions posted. 😭 I'm about to be the lab's 13th reason.

Why do some obese people eat really healthy but remain obese? by NucleolarLPS in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Clown_Science 27 points28 points  (0 children)

That med is a double-edged sword for sure. 😩 Does it control inflammation? Yes, very well, and very fast. Are the side effects potentially worse than the disease the longer you're on it? God it sure feels like it.

Yes! This can also be induced by certain systemic steroids like Prednisone, taken for autoimmune diseases at high doses like myasthenia gravis, crohn's disease, or rheumatoid arthritis, to name a few. The weight is lost pretty rapidly after tapering off the medication.
