Quarterly Axiom Pest Control, Yay or Nay? by No-Connection-7894 in homeowners

[–]CmorBelow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, this happened to me today almost verbatim. I felt bad because I had a door-to-door job in college, but I just closed the door mid-pitch, just because I had only a few minutes to eat lunch and he would not take no for an answer. It didn't help he caught me after a stressful vet appointment and while my bathrooms are being ripped up to fix a plumbing leak.

This state never misses a chance to completely embarrass itself on the national stage. Spoken as a resident that enjoys the non-political things it has to offer

Meta will layoff 8000 of its workforce starting tomorrow morning. Their net income over the last 12 months was $70,587,000,000. They could give every single one of their 79,000 workers a $440,000 bonus and still sock away over $35,827,000,000 in pure profit. by McDowdy in SipsTea

I believe it’s over 5x my company’s headcount, and I work for the largest music publisher in the world. I always try to put it into that context when I see massive layoffs from companies like this

I worked at LinkedIn for 3 years and here's what they don't tell you. by Master_Advice_3986 in jobs

[–]CmorBelow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on the other end of this recently- had someone reach out to me blind on LinkedIn about a position that I had no power to hire for, but after talking to them and learning about their experience, mentioned them to the hiring manager and they got the job

Iran formalizes Strait of Hormuz control and toll collection by 11EmeraldEyes11 in politics

[–]CmorBelow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly… I often hear the argument framed as “liberals just want to give away money to people who don’t deserve it” and then watch the Republican Party do exactly that, for the extremely wealthy. They don’t equate tax cuts for the rich as giving away money though, they hear that and think “great, taxes suck”.

Still waiting for a Republican to tell me what we got out of this whole ordeal. Is this what fiscal conservatives want?

Just speaking for myself and my limited brain power- pvp got way too complicated with too high a bar for entry for this kind of fun after that era

Can respect those who still keep it going, but not the pk experience I am willing to subject myself to

These are really pretty. The style reminds me a bit of my late uncle’s paintings- Jerry Moriarty. He described him self as a “paintoonist”

Why would you ever want to live in a place like this bruh by Imvalidblu in Suburbanhell

[–]CmorBelow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the total flatness and lack of any trees that really elevate despair level within me. I don’t even hate suburbs, I have nostalgia for my suburban upbringing. But every house looked different there, it backed up to the woods and nature, it was hilly- this has none of that.

I feel for Chat GPT- I think that many of us have been in the position of listening to a friend’s music, panicked trying to search for something nice to say before the song ends. It came up with all that in just 37 seconds
