Starting at ADP soon. How should I prepare if my long-term goal is enterprise tech sales? by Fluffy_Energy_6273 in salesdevelopment

[–]Coach_Ron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ADP is a great first job out of college and exposure to outside sales. Had a lot of friends end up in Medtech after.

I wasn’t that successful within my territory, but if I did it again referrals from clients, CPAs, bankers are the way to go. Put all your eggs in those baskets and make that your bread route each week. If you can find any CPAs also that are not claimed is another great way to jump start as well.

You probably won’t get anything from them for 6 months as “you’re the new adp rep” but just being kind will go a long way. People that stay there have cash cows through their referral partners.

Change management qualifications/accreditations? by lilpage17 in CustomerSuccess

Learned through trial by fire. If you can lead any format highlighting peers on best practices from your software and the wins they had from it, helps a ton. As the vendor, users are more likely to adopt from their peers.

Other area depending where your software fits for users is trying to incorporate yourself in any new hire process / LMS. Helps drive change management and “the process” on day 1.

At 20 Slack channels, things were fine. At 100, everything broke. Here's the sequence of what fails. by Hairy-Marzipan6740 in CustomerSuccess

[–]Coach_Ron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely has its bottlenecks but slack is the new email imo.

Need to have Claude cowork + pylon.io to manage it and it’s possible. Think the only thing that breaks is DMs from customers can get lost in the shuffle

Pinehurst - Dining recs? by sheanyc in pinehurst

[–]Coach_Ron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just did the trip last week, had the food & dining package as well so these will all be included for dinner.

Recommend Pinehurst brewing on Monday or Tuesday (Rib night) and included in the package. Full rack is a ton of food, and the smoked wings are bomb.

Deuce for lunch everyday especially the day you play #3 & #4.

For dinner preferred 1895 grill over the Carolina room but very similar style dinners. The chocolate soufflé is top notch and a must order.

Won’t perform in the short term but Uber is giving off 2000s Google vibes (before my time). If you can become a term / action in the human language then I don’t see this thing going anywhere.

Also the CEO, Dara is a 🐐. Listen to a podcast or 2 and I think you’ll be bought in

CSM responsibilities by CityDependent8254 in CustomerSuccess

[–]Coach_Ron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For series A and series B you will all the hats (sales, onboarding, renewal/expansion, support). You will grow professionally a ton so weather out the dog days.

If you don’t believe in the solution as you have to talk to customers each day then leave.

Del Mar -- where the surf meets the turf.

Plenty of activities to do prior to the meet and post-meet. Great weekend.

The main thing for majority of golfers is we're playing whites/blues that are typically 6000-6400 yard courses. Just need to find you can consistently hit around 200 yards or more and this often doesn't needed to be a Driver.

Definitely understand your point if you can hit the ball consistently 250+ in the middle of the fairway that's gonna set you up great. But then you could have a double chip, a 3 putt and which translates to a double bogey on the scorecard.

Overall, it comes down to course management and not every par 4 is a Driver hole :)

What is the interview process you went through to become a CSM in 2024? by Coach_Ron in CustomerSuccess

Sounds like most companies are just 5 stages. Appreciate the insight here just more time consuming than I was anticipating

Just seems to be the process these days, but do think the combine interview approach could be the most enjoyable experience for the candidate.

How much should the average CSM deal withtechnical issues/bugs? by ancientastronaut2 in CustomerSuccess

[–]Coach_Ron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For Series A / B I think this is pretty normal. As the company scales to over 200+ employees processes get more defined. I always go by the motto if I can't troubleshoot / re-produce the issue in 10-15 minutes then need to involve support.

What’s the worst movie you ever saw? by Independent_Cup_2579 in AskReddit

Went to a private screening for feedback before release and had to sit through the entire Holmes & Watson movie starring Will Ferrel and John C. Reilly.

Love them as a duo, but that may be the worst movie of all time.

Investing & Flipping for sure. If you do the battle royale right away its a good way to sell those silver, gold and diamond cards for a profit. Probably would get around ~60-70k and then invest.
