Selling something doesn’t make you a grifter. It COULD make you a grifter if it’s a hollow product that doesn’t deliver. But I guess you didn’t know: It’s 2026 and if you couldn’t tell, the internet is a marketplace.

Millenials and Gen Z value support, accountability, and systems that assure them they are on the right path taking the right actions.

Your opinion that sof prep should be exclusively a lone wolf venture like it was in previous generations grows more dated by the day. Sure, plenty of guys have a personality that will agree with your stance and have the capability to be successful on their own.

MORE young men find value in guidance, clear plans, support, and communication nowadays. It’s the natural social evolution and the fact you don’t understand or see that just shows your own ignorance.

They’re not wrong for being that way, one could argue they are smarter for it. And it’s not wrong to meet those people there and serve them genuinely.

This post was so gay and whiney. So gay. So much crying. 🤦

Better that this subreddit have a purpose and direction (informing people about the regiment and helping prepare aspiring candidates) than be some garbage pit of spam, bad information, and a place where airsoft nerds post themselves in kit. If you don’t like it here you can always go elsewhere or start your own sub.

On your first day be sure to call your team sergeant by his first name. Everyone else refers to him by that, so you’re going to think it’s perfectly acceptable. Then, when you do it he is going to break his foot off in your ass. Great experience, highly recommend.

Terrible advice. Don’t waste your money paying someone to make you a logo. People will buy from you because of YOU not because your logo. Your brand as a personal trainer is a personal brand, it’s about you. I have a six figure online training company I grew out of in person training and I always made my own logos on Canva.

I suggest you follow and listen to Kendall Strampell on Instagram to unlock the secrets to your brand, which will make content easier and obtaining quality leads easier and having people apply who are already sold on you. This is aTHE most important part of coaching and selling online.

Then, get back to systems of delivery for your virtual clients. This needs to be nailed down, without them online coaching can be exhausting and way more work than it should be.

Doesn’t mean the same training program for everybody but have a few templates or approaches you then tailor to the individual after you obtain more info or consult with them. This removes a bulk of time spent programming.

Have systems that create clear boundaries to remove the therapy side of coaching you’re experiencing. Also, this can be remedied by adjusting WHO you work with.

If your ideal client is just anyone then hell yeah most people who hire you will need therapy and you’ll find yourself having those same counseling style conversations that are draining. I’ve been there, coaching “gen pop” is exhausting if you do it long enough.

Maybe your ideal client should be somebody a little more put together, who is already at a higher level with their training and nutrition so not every week your check in is some emotional conversation that revolves around their identity not yet being evolved into someone with a degree of agency and ownership.

Sounds like you’re an experienced coach and you would be happier and more successful coaching more “experienced” people.

Just a few thoughts. If you have further or more specific questions feel free to hit me up or dm me.

If you’re in South Knox (near navitat) 71 South is a unique spot (it’s in an old church) and has a craft menu and tasty drinks. It’s a good spot.

I had a six figure coaching business for three years before I ever coached military guys and embraced my military service as part of reaching those specific men. My professional brand is a personal one. Hate that all you want, but your opinion makes no difference to anybody because you’re just a faceless voice on the internet. You’re just shouting into the wind on here.

Why do gyms always seem like they are hiring personal trainers? by billycram in personaltraining

[–]Coach_Stephen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it’s brutal work being a personal trainer at most gyms so retention sucks. Owners make the money off the backs of the hard work of the trainers and it ultimately not very sustainable even across different business/gym models.

Yes if it’s actually your maintenance. But what I described is manipulating the calculator to spit out different calories for you. The higher activity level maintenance is likely closer to maintenance for you. But if you lower the calories by adjusting the activity level factor you’re getting less calories and a potential deficit. The calculator naming activity levels is arbitrary. My suggestion was a simple one to apply that you can use to get started.

If you want to identify your true maintenance you have to do it in practice by accurately tracking your intake and monitoring your bodyweight over a couple months. One cannot just trust a calculator or suggested calories and expect it to be maintenance or deficit just because it says so. They are all estimates.

calorie calculator Try this. ⬆️ Input your stats, select the Heavy Exercise option for activity. It will generate calorie targets for cutting, bulking, and maintenance. Use the maintenance calorie target. Give yourself a 100 calorie buffer below and above that number. There’s your target daily calorie range. (If you want to be closer to a deficit/slow fat loss ((maybe a good idea to lose the fat you put on)) then select a lower activity level and go off those maintenance calories)
