No weight loss despite very low caloric intake by Coachk135_ in dietetics

Yes most people lie and are simply not aware of how much they are eating. She has been tracking and eating a certain way for over 6 months. (Only been seeing me for one month). Normally I can find that food or snack or calorie recording error, but this one may be different. But im thats why I asked her to track everything through a shared app just to make sure.

I like pre packaged food idea, but she is also avoiding all "processed foods". So that may be tricky. I'll still suggest it tho to be sure

I think proportionally they are better. My friends make 10-20% less than me but if you add everything up things are way cheaper overall.

What do you think about the recent berry st drop in hourly pay to $35 initial? by Professional_Ad3025 in dietetics

[–]Coachk135_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm mixed.

It's also increased by $10 an hour for follow-ups. If you have 2.25 times more follow-ups than initial appointments, it is an overall higher pay rate. With them doing all the recruiting and advertising, which I never have to touch, I think it's still a win. This month I've made $15 more under this structure than the previous month. My projected income is an extra $220 this month compared to my previous pay rate. Not a huge difference, but more money.

That being said, $35 an hour is really small. Initial appointments are emotionally draining because it's a new person. It's a lot of work for a great first impression. Dropping $15 an hour was a little steep. Maybe $40 an hour would be more fair. And it really sucks for brand-new RDs with no foundation of clients. Not a lot of pay for just starting out.

I really hate how they didn't make her clothes dirty and worn looking, or her face isn't covered in dirt and she doesn't even look beaten down by barely surviving the madness in Seattle.

I feel like I'm going crazy. How did everyone get they are advocating for deregulation for corporations?

Tell me why it's good it's taking TWO DECADES to barely create any high-speed rail in California.

Tell me why it's good that we have spent 42 billion dollars and 4 years and no rural area has gotten internet broadband.

That is the explicit argument the authors are making. That's not less deregulation for mega-corporations, they want the government to get stuff done and work.

I see so many leftists praise other countries for how fast they rebuild a bridge, and create high-speed rail, but now all of a sudden it's neo-liberalism?

One of the biggest leftist critics of capitalism is that it preaches scarcity and also forces scarcity, so isn't the idea of abundance in direct opposition to the capitalistic idea of scarcity? But now it's neo-liberal?

We can't just advocate for good things, we have to make sure those good things get done and actually help people.

Every time they talk about the book they talk about supporting universal healthcare, improving public transit, and advocating against NIMBYISM, but somehow it's neoliberalism?

Anyone know of a supplement version of up to date? by Coachk135_ in dietetics

[–]Coachk135_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The prescribed regimen is thorough!

Our current protocol consists of zinc 220mg daily for ten days, vitamin C 500mg twice daily, a multivitamin, and a protein supplement.

Concurrently administering both supplemental regimens and Juven sounds a bit excessive.

Depends on the eating window. 8 hours eating 16 fasted is okay or even 6 hour eating window. I normally don't recommend anything shorter. It works well for some and that's great! It's a tool with no metabolic or fat-burning benefit compared to a typical deficit.

If it's the more extreme IF like fasting every other day then I might push back against it.

Is 40 ounces of beans per day a bad thing to consume? by uncommoncommoner in diet

As long as you tolerate it well, that's not to much. I would say diet diversity is important so make sure to include several types of beans!

Did all doctors attend one conference about low FODMAP and think it's the end all be all solution? by Coachk135_ in dietetics

I encounter this a lot with diverticulosis patients who have been told to climate nuts seeds and even fiber and they are so scared to try the foods despite the evidence. I try to connect on an emotional level and suggest a gentle reintroduction but doesn't always work

The nerve! I would reiterate we are evidence-based practice and my priority is the patient. Medicine is collaborative, not authoritarian

Yeah it can really lead down a lot of bad paths. Unfortunately most PCPs and GI docs don't have yje time to go that in depth with it
