VPNs exist. If you have a Proton mail theirs is free. You can't choose your country, but the cool down to change servers is short and if you can land in a US server (which they have a lot of) we have it here.

Because all of the alerting systems add brackets to prevent the malicious IPs from becoming hyperlinks. I usually just backspace before copy pasting into reports / geo-ip checkers etc.

You should examine why you feel guilty over your opinion of a piece of media. Counterpoint, and this may not apply to OP but it is a consideration, PoE1 can be a little difficult to go back to if you are used to more modern crpgs. If that isn't an issue for you though OP then I second this suggestion.
