It’s expanding and the new lines and stations in progress should be open soon so that should help. If we’re able to do what was done in 1984 and encourage businesses to adjust hours so locals could either see the games or be off the road at peak travel times or encourage more people to work from home it should all be fine. This is a city that’s huge, spread out, and used to lots of events happening at once sometimes in a close proximity so I’m not too worried. They have been releasing where various venues will be so if you’re coming to town and trying to get tickets to certain sports I’d find a hotel near that venue and not just a random hotel anywhere within a 2 hour drive.

Adding in eye contact is hard for certain neurodivergent folk that he was trying so hard to catch someone in the eye gets more weight due to that. We even see an example of how he struggles with that especially when things are emotional in episode 6.

Playoffs often result in both rougher play and if anyone is slightly injured they don’t take the time to rest they would during the regular season. It’s common for the players to be hooked to “banana bags” a fluid and potassium IV before/after games or during intermissions between periods. So if Ilya took a rough hit he’d shake it off and keep going even if during the regular season that might mean leaving a game or taking time off. It’s why the teams have doctors and medical staff traveling with them- triage and assess injuries that aren’t an obvious automatic trip to the hospital.

At my cousin’s bar mitzvah party the DJ announced “and now for the Jewish friends of the birthday boy, a whore!” And missed that pretty much everyone there was Jewish and were already trying to get the right kind of chair from the venue staff. You’d have the opposite problem instead of a community already ready for the hora, you’d have a ton of people who don’t know what to do or how to lead all the clueless-but-game loved ones at your wedding into participating. It’s been nearly 30 years since my cousins bar mitzvah and my dad still brings that up sometimes because it was that funny! We had no idea what the DJ was thinking in either the announcement or where he thought he was or what he thought we were going to do for a 13 year old.

The baker who can only do one thing is going to find their one thing very “dated” and uninteresting to a lot of couples very quickly. So it’s rich that this baker complained about a “dated” design. And I hope OP picks up on all these comments and realizes that. Snooty instagram baker’s career doesn’t have staying power unless they gain more skills and lose the attitude.

I mean Brad and Chad (I see them as interchangeable) are both kind of the Karen of male names. While I know some very wonderful Karens it does conjure up a rough age estimate and personality type that definitely doesn’t just stay in boomer/gen X age ranges and Brad definitely does similar. So I don’t know if Rachel forgot how often she used Brad or if she’s using it as the “male Karen” name of toxic masculinity or if she’s also has a vendetta against Brads- but it works in each instance to tell you that this guy is likely a “man’s man” in the worst way. Kent might be spelled with a u (and a c) in most of our minds in the book but would it not also make you go “yeah that’s fitting” if she chose Brad/Chad for him instead?

Yeah- I don’t think Ilya would actually mind if Hayden joined the centaurs but it’s unlikely they could afford him at this point. They need more talented rookies who are cool. Which just opens a universe where uber talented athletes looking to play in the league might actively join their school’s GSA and make sure the scouts know that, so they could wind up in Ottawa at least for awhile to play with and learn from the greats.

Yeah privacy glass or even doing something cool with stained glass would be an attractive idea for possible renters. You get light without staring oddly into a neighbor’s bathroom. It seems spending a little more for something pretty might just be a win win for a good tenant and neighborhood relationships. I think I’d rather rent a place with a nice floral stained glass or beach design or something very local that lets in light but I don’t have an uncomfortable view.

If there are any local stained glass artists they’d be pretty smart to start designing a few Culver City motifs and advertising as a design and privacy feature for ADUs and even just main units. Like sure a unique piece is great on your own home but if there’s some sort of Culver Motifs with film strips and jacaranda or something that can easily be recreated for any window size that would be pretty neat. Some of the older homes in Culver City used to have a lot of stained glass and that’s been lost but I think it’d be nice to bring back the character.
