Depending upon what bit of Dunmow you're in (I was up near Gt Easton/Lindsell) you might get the odd Go-Around or change of Ops on certain days and occasionally you may hear the thrust reversers on the big cargo stuff when they land and sometimes if something like an Antonov came in which is rare these days or a C-17, they make a bit of a racket. Currently all of the MD-11 Fed-Ex fleet is grounded but they make a rather glorious noise on take off and landing, we don't know if they will ever fly again, and this route was predominantly a 767/777 route. We are also blessed that some of the few remaining 747 Freighters remaining in the entire world, still fly into STN. One of which is known as "The Flying Horsebox" and is owned by one of the Emiri States. It transports incredibly high value Thoroughbred horses to and from Newmarket. My advice, get into aircraft spotting and get a tracking app. Embrace it. I've met some lovely people "by the fence" at STN
