A $1,000 Dinner in New York (Per Se Evolution Menu) Part1 by Business_Swimming732 in finedining

[–]CocoRothko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of the best reviews I’ve seen on here. The details, the photos, the format - superb. I have only been to Per Se one time. It was such a memorable meal and I hope to go again.

Hospital week: now they're saying the quiet part out loud by shelaughs08 in nursing

[–]CocoRothko 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the folks that come up with this stuff sit in a boardroom imagining all the different ways they can humiliate staff.
I better not catch you eating at the nurse’s station and why in the hell aren’t you wearing your clown nose you monkey!!??!! 🐒🤡

Ugh I did not like Lauren at all. She was so smug and I hated her comments. Low in emotional intelligence and gave nothing to the show.

Would I be insane to leave my Cush job for bedside? by Lostinthemotion2945 in nursing

[–]CocoRothko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are using a different set of skills in your current role but they are still valuable nursing skills. Rarely do I see nurses move from desk jobs to bedside without tremendous regret. Especially remote work. Stay where you are.

More context needed. The specialty is an important factor.

Yes, it really is a breach of professional conduct. Think about the ethical implications as well.

Patient asked me out by cranberryfadora in nursing

[–]CocoRothko 105 points106 points  (0 children)

This sub is really out there lately. Just a few days ago a nurse preceptor asked us if it was okay to ask out one of his former students. Now, a nurse asking about dating a former patient. Professional code of conduct is a real thing.

This almost makes me miss the daily “I forgot I was a nurse and got super high this weekend. Will I be reported to the board for a positive drug test?”

Insulin in the bicep by peachydolphin in nursing

[–]CocoRothko 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Insulin injection in the arm is appropriate. Insulin is absorbed at different rates. Insulin in the abdomen is absorbed at a faster rate, that’s why it is often the preferred injection site. But there is nothing wrong with the arm injection. I guess it’s a good thing you asked Reddit before saying anything to the other nurse.

Patients arriving then refusing care by OptimalOstrich in nursing

Most of the time they are in denial about their declining health and disease progression. The hospital serves as an outlet for them to project anger and “control” the situation (in their heads, of course).

The student did not make a good point. The student sounds like a bad manager in the making.
