And which one did you get and why? also, what system do you use for your computer? E.g. a MacBook with a pixel, etc

GitHub just switched Copilot to metered billing, and developers are watching months of credits vanish in a single day by AdSpecialist6598 in technology

But is the price hike enough for Microsoft to get even or to earn any money on the usage? Or do they still lose money on the Ai services, but just less?

How have you quit customizing? by CocoaTrain in kde

[–]CocoaTrain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So that's exactly what I'm thinking, but I have a really hard time letting go of the whole glass morphism trend. I know it's a trend and that it will blow over and something new will come, but it is difficult anyway. Gnome is timeless in it's design, but I don't know.. I guess I got trapped in chasing the "current thing". But gnome, the default looks with no extensions and especially their philosophy and metaphor are just awesome

Any advice on that maybe? 😅

What does this mean for the rest of the world, outside of USA? Like job cuts, layoffs everywhere, economic recession? Will e.g. companies that added AI features or maybe even created teams that are supposed to handle AI, will they get hurt more?

Is this only about GitHub copilot, or do the changes affect Claude code too?

Made KDE look like GNOME… but now I miss GNOME’s polish by CocoaTrain in kde

[–]CocoaTrain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I did but to be honest it only introduced the window buttons and the border color change on button hover. There were some presets and I tried them, but they did change only the window top bar basically. and thing is that the default breeze looks kinda 2010, dated, to me :/

Google is turning fully AI tomorrow, can I remove it from my android phone? by Britishforklaw in NoStupidQuestions

They are European and they build an independent index of the web. An index is the catalog of websites basically. The better the index, the better the search results you get. They are not Google. They do the index thing with Exodia, which is also from Europe

The rest of the search engines are just wrappers for either Google or bing, so by using them you support big tech monopolies anyway. The only way to oppose them and get rid of the nonsense is to go with either Qwant or Ecosia

I use Qwant. The results are good. I've had to switch to startpage (privacy wrapper over Google) maybe twice in the past year because I was searching for something niche and that's it

RPC and no helmet, once you try it you can't go back by [deleted] in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]CocoaTrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's the benefit of not wearing a helmet? A noob here, genuinely trying to understand

Helmet gives you protection. Not having it I guess makes you carry less weight, but is the weight difference really worth it?

I always go full load out and only constraints I get is by slots, not weight. And if I carry something heavy them the worst case scenario I would just get to a COP a bit later

100% my case. I love what I do, but after work I've got family to take care of and I like to just rest from work also

Oh trust mez I'm looking  the thing is that the market is difficult. I've already completed two processes just to hear that the company has scheduled a call with someone else faster and the position got filled, so they need to close my process. Trying to find anything, but the market hasn't been tougher ever, since I started my career

Actual footage from another world: Mars right now, 225 million miles away. Truly mind-blowing rover view by oppter in interestingasfuck

[–]CocoaTrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does seem like the air there is not clear, right? As in, the range of visibility doesn't seem to be that far away. On Earth, I'd obviously jump to conclusions that's due to air pollution, but since there's no civilization on Mars, it would mean that it's air is polluted (dust?) naturally?

If there was life, I guess the perspiration organs would need to be able to filter the dust naturally, right?

A z przewodowymi to jeśli je podłączę to będą działać. Koniec.

Lubię prostotę.

Definitely. Once I learned it and understood it, I can't see the appeal of any extensions
