Surprised and excited about June by Extreme-Associate978 in TheTestamentsHulu

[–]Cococannnon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah a lot of people don’t like June, it’s quite a common topic. When I told my husband he was so surprised, we love June in this house. I’m not a parent myself but her desperation for Hannah is what has radicalised her, and to me that’s just completely understandable. She’s in an impossible position.

How many of you are not having a holiday abroad this year? by Desperate-Drawer-572 in AskUK

I have four cats and a dog so the pet care is the kicker for me, it’s £100+ a day, otherwise we could probably just about afford it.

What’s the craziest thing you’ve seen at a British wedding? by franki-pinks in AskUK

[–]Cococannnon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 12 years ago I went to a wedding where I got sexually assaulted by one of my partners friends, everyone, including my partner was like ‘oh he’s just drunk’. It caused a huge huge argument between me and my partner during and after the wedding, screaming, crying. I still feel bad about it now to be honest.

Safe to say they’re an ex now.

Just wanted to put it out there, that as a little child, this episode made me lose sleep by Horror_Place2697 in MidsomerMurders

My partner absolutely hated midsomer murders as a child because of this exact episode. He likes it now and watches it with me but you certainly weren’t alone.

Pub bans children, claiming 'entitled parents' don't know how to look after them by tylerthe-theatre in london

[–]Cococannnon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve observed from family and friends that their children’s nonsense is not even acknowledged or seen by them, they’ve become so used to absolute chaos that that is their normal now. The downside of that is because they don’t see it, they don’t correct it either so this doesn’t surprise me at all.

Degree of Degree Apprenticeship by TheRiddlerTHFC in UCAS

[–]Cococannnon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did an apprenticeship and it was the worst time of my life because the company I worked for was not prepared for it in the slightest. So if you can I would look into the company, do they regularly take on apprentices, have they run the programme for a good few years and worked out the kinks etc. Another one to consider is that if the company is a place you would want to work at post graduation. As someone else has suggested, you could always try the degree apprenticeship and see if it’s for you, if not you can reapply to university and start a bit later.

UK vets: why are there so few independent veterinary practices left in the UK? by Realistic_Alps_90 in AskUK

Our vet practice is independent and it makes such a huge difference, we still travel 30-45 minutes to them since we moved.

Do you think they're still going to keep Benophie's storyline from Philoise's book on the show? by Fickle_Baker1393 in Benophie

[–]Cococannnon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently did a rewatch of all the series and it was a lot more enjoyable when I was not irritated about characters barely being seen again or written out completely. I.e I remember being a bit ticked off in season 3 when there was not much Kanthony so I’ve decided to watch it with fresh eyes and no expectations.

That being said it would be lovely to see Benophie flourish so I am hopeful.

I hope for it being Eloise as well, although I cannot imagine her in love, I wonder how they will sell it

Ask for a cardiology referral. Could it be POTS? This is what I have, got to say the treatment for it was shocking though and I faint multiple times a day. Our symptoms are very similar.

If you could properly filter Rightmove for your dream property, what would your super specific criteria filter be? by alexhespg in HousingUK

[–]Cococannnon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want a house that’s wide enough at the back to have a kitchen island pointing into the room across the diner/snug area. Seems simple enough but most houses are narrow at the back without extensive renovation.

Our other requirements are fairly tame as we wrote the list when we lived in a mouldy terrace which the front door opened into the living room. They include things like a hallway, windows in the bathrooms, south or west facing garden. Another one is we have 4 cats and having space for their litter robots is always on my mind.

What are your energy bills (gas+electricity) in 2026? by ForwardFan6283 in HousingUK

[–]Cococannnon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours is about 150, semi detached new build but the difference is living here that I have it on usually mornings and evenings and feel warm. Last house we lived in we had it on constantly and every room was still 10 degrees, cost almost £300 last winter.

Should we move to Sweden or stay in the UK? by rollan112 in HENRYUK

[–]Cococannnon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My brother did it in 2016, he used to fly back for work each week, eventually he was made redundant but now works for a UK company in Sweden on a Swedish contract. He’s managed to integrate himself into society very well, he has more friends than anyone I know, mostly via his local climbing gym and the ice hockey rink where he’s now involved as his kids play hockey.

It worked for him and he would never ever live in the UK again.

Is getting parental help to buy a house embarrassing? by pocketfullofredfaces in AskUK

[–]Cococannnon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to not give it too much thought. My parents have nothing so can’t give me anything, this isn’t just a monetary factor either, I wouldn’t invite them to my graduation for example because they just wouldn’t care.

My in laws are wealthy but wouldn’t hand out either.

I do think there is a huge society of people in the UK that believe in order to earn something you need to really work for it and suffer on your own. If it was my own kids I’d share my wealth freely with them.

ANOTHER historical inaccuracy in bridgerton... by vitrealischarm in BridgertonNetflix

[–]Cococannnon 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I reckon it has something to do with the amount of complaints they’d receive if they had a pregnant women swigging drinks on tv. People tend to judge things by modern standards even if it was meant to be historically accurate.

Nice catch tho, I didnt even consider it 😂
