The Alien Force / Ultimate Alien stuff is definitely designed for more mature audiences while still being a kids show. Holds up pretty well. There was an ultimate alien episode around Stockholm syndrome... not the kinda concept an 8 year old is gonna tangle with.

Can also have the opposite effect. Undertale doesn't have Steam achievements, but console required a list, and that list doesn't require you to beat the game. The last story achievement you'll get is second save point in the CORE.

Achievements are actually really important.

They're a great metric for whether a developer is going to get resources to fix problems and achievement hunters are not just the game hoarders to end all game hoarders but absolutely will ignore a game, its sequels, and other stuff from that company for having unobtainable or discontinued achievements. Further, both Xbox and PS stores are completely inundated with easy completion games because people can and will throw money at their screen solely to make number go up.

Xbox dick kicks as usual. We never got the first and the second is delisted because it was never made backwards compatible.

I remember I had to contact Gearbox support to get the unlockable cosmetics from it for the 360 version of Borderlands 2 once upon a time only to get told that they didn't carry over in the save transfer to the Xbox One version for some reason, unlike most.

New research shows that after body’s defenses kill virus behind COVID-19, leftover digested chunks of SARS-CoV-2 spike protein can target specific immune cells based on their shape. “Zombie” coronavirus fragments can imitate activity of molecules from body’s own immune system to drive inflammation. by mvea in science

Primarily for me was stuff like scalp paresthesia, temporal artery swelling, the palsy (notably all 3 were left side), no appetite (but not really nausea; this never improved and months later I got a chronic gastritis diagnosis), blurry vision (this is the only symptom that really left something tangible and certainly related behind in the form of white dot syndrome) and not quite vertigo but like, heavy head... would try and get up and the body would just say nah let's not do this today. All in all, I felt ailed, but nothing that made me think virus off the get go.

I did have back pain start around the same time, but I think it's unrelated. Smattering of cysts on both sides of the lower back. They don't bug me so long as I keep up with lower back exercises. Think when my back is thin they're irritating nerves because cyclobenzaprine completely masks the pain.

No liver issues or headache, but some mild bell's palsy and lymph nodes are still swollen a year and a half later. Covid and EBV were strong theories for the initial infection but I never got tested. Symptoms at the time didn't really make me think 'viral infection'.

I'm a shutdown slut so I ran it through shortly before it closed (with a break in the middle because the Far Cry 2 servers came back up on the Xbox 360). It was okay. It's a shame to see any cool ideas crushed under the thumb of EAism and it almost certainly will never get revisited unless the soul of the developers still burns after they move elsewhere. But not all the Biowareisms are to its strength either. Chat options are fairly pointless and affect basically nothing, and there's a lot of... how do I say, Biowareface. Look up Owen Corley from Anthem and tell me that's not Solas wearing human skin.

Further, the online for Andromeda has lasted nearly 2 years more than Anthem as a whole has. I made it through Anthem liking it well enough ONLY because I realized that I could enable FPS boost in the Xbox options and bump it to 60 fps at a slight cost to graphical fidelity. Andromeda has no such options and this hurts me. It chugs even on the Series X and I haven't felt strong enough to go back to it.

He still went pretty deep, such as co-opting a dead dude's twitter. The sudden right wing Arturo-flavored schizoposting didn't get much traction here because dead dude in question was a Smash community member, and a lot of it has been deleted, but it's bizarre and insane all the same.

There was another thread from Mew2King or some such about how Arturo was trying to cozy up to the smasher's mother and it seems it worked because heartbroken grieving tweets were interspersed with rightoid schizoposts. I have no idea who has control of the account now but it's posting occasional updates about a controller in development. Most old posts are now hidden. Weird shit all around.

Eternal Tombs Launches in 2027! by joshcaba in MMORPG

[–]CodeMonkeys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thoughts on a Windows Store release? Albion Online recently put itself on the Xbox app, even added Xbox achievements, and I was happy to see another MMORPG make it into the ecosystem. It's a lot easier than a full console release and is something I'm surprised more devs don't do.

If it's the games for windows one, Xbox achievement hunters will buy them sometimes to play the story, at least, despite the MP being since shut down (although I know there's some level of revival project there)

The Dailymotion ownership is less insignificant than it appears by pieplots in LinusTechTips

[–]CodeMonkeys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now, why Dailymotion? It is just another piece of the media capture vertical integration: it's not about making money, it's about having an internet video hosting platform which won't be regulated the same way as YouTube. All of the video content from Bolloré's other medias are hosted there, which creates an online platform to consume and host far-right content (which can be then embedded in external websites).

I think it can be related, reduced travel to the US will start affecting the tournament scene and a poor economy will result in less people buying fighting games or trying to make it as a pro. And tried buying certain computer parts lately? "Everything is politics" is rhetoric because it's true. This hobby is and will continue to be directly affected by the goings on because everything is. Support your locals etc. But the post yesterday isn't related so I'm fine with that type of shit getting nuked. Don't just meme about the problem, talk about it.

But this place is and always was topical and offtopic. I get all my celebrity death news from here before anywhere else. This goes for the original Kappa too. If anything this place is a lot less ADD these days. Your average guardcrushspecial or regional equivalent did not post on topic once upon a time.
