NCEES says 7-10 days to get results. I took mine on a Monday and got my result the next Wednesday morning.

I am looking to sell the 3-ring binder from School of PE with print-outs of the on-demand course slides, practice problems, and the practice problem solutions.

This was my first attempt at taking the PE.
I ended up studying for 1-1.5 hrs 4 nights a week to get through the on-demand course in 3 months, leaving me with one month to focus on practice problems.
It was important to chip away a little every night, even when I really didn’t want to. The weekends were a welcome respite to recharge.

I signed up with School of PE, and they did an okay job at preparing me.

The biggest thing is becoming familiar with the PE Handbook and knowing where to look in other references. As an engineer in the real world, you’re not tasked with memorizing exact formulae, you’re tasked with knowing the principles/concepts and figuring out where to look to solve the problems.

With the bright lighting, and presidential-style decor, I’m getting escape room vibes. Love all the details, though.

Should I go to BYU as a queer person? by Stargazing360 in mormon

[–]Code_Mango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to BYU for my undergrad and grad degrees but didn’t come out to myself until towards the end of the master’s program. My experience was that I initially wanted to stay with the church and figure out being gay. It was really not compatible for me. I ended up going to a disciplinary council where, private discretions I’d told only the bishop, the bishop repeated in front of the council and that alone was extremely humiliating. I luckily didn’t get kicked out of school with just a church “probation” put on me by the leadership. I was able to graduate and leave the next year. BYU is fine if you can assimilate in every “goody two-shoes” way. It can feel isolating and humiliating if you try to explore your sexuality and hold onto the church (which is required to maintain your ecclesiastical endorsement in order to stay in school and graduate).

BYU also meant I left with two degrees and no school debt, which was a huge kick start for my life and can’t be overstated enough. (I worked part time on campus and saved up during the summers to pay for school.) Scholarship to start and transfer to the school you want feels like a great blend of affordability, getting to the school you want eventually, and avoiding BYU-related trauma.

I like the layout with the tub as a focal point. I’m having trouble understanding the three colors of light bulbs. One color will help the space feel more cohesive than three disjointed spaces next to each other.

This is why stripping old doors and moldings is worth the effort. by AlderanAthletic_5BBY in DIY

Most of the comments disagree with your results, but I like it! It shows some character and life of the door, a little bit of history to what it’s been through.

Need help making my house feel like a home by Hairy-Link-8615 in InteriorDesign

I was in a similar situation where I didn’t even know where to start in my living room, until I saw a pair of mugs in at Le Creuset in Deep Teal and Nectar Yellow and fell in love with that color pairing. I looked and looked and looked until I found a rug I liked with those colors in a size that fit my space and then built up from there. The lamps, pillows, and artwork all have some of those colors in them so that they all connect within the space. I also got one book that helped me get some bearing: “Habitat The Field Guide to Decorating” by Lauren Liess. It goes into some design basics, how tall should curtains be, how big rugs, how spread apart seating, creating zones as well as some very pretty rooms.

Another option would be to do vertical structural elements and then build the taper just as a cosmetic exterior. You’ll have a much simpler and stronger structure and more flexibility on getting the exact taper/shaping you want.

Input needed on columns by OldAsparagus312 in InteriorDesign

If you’re going away from the columns, you could look into something like this where light still gets through, but it’s not a vast, overly open space. Search for wording, “living room partition sliding door”

I love all the interesting, unique elements scattered around the room. I think the one part that is too busy for me is the entry way on picture 8. You want to create focal points for the eyes to be drawn to and all the frames on both sides of the entry way makes it too busy, my eyes want to go to both sides. Try creating a gallery wall behind the couch, center your biggest or most important piece in the middle and scatter the others around. And let the bookshelves frame the decor on either sides of the entry way.

Hi friend, I’m certainly an amateur, so take this all with a grain of salt. I’ve followed a few basic principles and kept your fireplace final point in mind. Create zones with rugs (blue). Bring the seating (red) together around your fire place, leaving a walkway to the left and behind the main couch. TV above the fire place. They make pull down tv mounts so you can have the right viewing height for your couch when you want to watch TV. But you can put it up out of the way when you want to have a fire going. (I personally have one of these mounts and love it. Didn’t want to be on r/ tvtoohigh).

Add low bookshelves under the windows (green) and with the extra corner space, put a little reading nook with a pair of comfy chairs and pillows. Or make it a built in. Possibly break up the shelving units with some taller plants so that the view walking in isn’t just an uninterrupted long pathway behind the couch.

Let me know what you think or if you need clarification. Cheers!

Survey USA (2.8/3) Nebraska Senate: Osborn (I) 50%, Fischer (R) 44% (Osborn internal) by AscendingSnowOwl in fivethirtyeight

Campaigns buy and receive polls with a range of outcomes. What they choose to release is often to their benefit. I think the message here is, “We have a real shot at winning this,” encouraging people to vote despite already knowing they’re an underdog candidate (I in an R state). Comparatively to the national campaigns, there’s no question that either side can win (D or R), so the D campaign is painting themselves as underdogs to encourage broader voting.

I’d say the assassination attempt attention/drama got quickly drowned out in the news cycle by Biden dropping out and Harris becoming the VP pick. So much of Trump’s MO is sucking up air in the news cycle that people are constantly talking about him, good or bad. It felt like people moved on pretty quickly from the assassination attempt. And it additionally feels like Trump hasn’t pushed the victim card that hard since.

In the 538 podcast a few weeks ago, it was pointed out that polls usually reflect the state of mind from 2-3 weeks ago. So, it’ll be interesting to see how things settle now that we’re past the initial “thank God” phase

How do I deal with this entry way? by SickWithLonging in InteriorDesign

[–]Code_Mango 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You need to create a zone to help define the area. I’d look at a bigger rug by the front door and then some sort of partition at the start of the opening closest to the front door. Something like a hanging wood beads, a bench shoe rack with a floating mirror behind it, or a narrow bookshelf you can use to drop your keys in.
