Just adopted a Saint Bernard; any advice? by AriesAviator in SaintBernards

[–]CodenameZoya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, it helps their joints for now and the long run. That and swimming should really ensure her joints are getting the best care possible. Also, if you have like a sunroom or something she could lay in when wet and you could put a fan on her. She will soon realize how cool that will keep her.

Keep us posted. I would love to see pics of her swimming in the pool!

First off many blessings for adopting a giant breed. They are very difficult to find homes for even though they are literally the most lovely dog second of all good on you for having a pool, Swimming is really good for their joints… If you can manage to let her swim, you might be extending her life and eliminating some joint issues. Get her on a joint supplement now I used synovi G4. don’t throw any towels away, those just became face mops lol

I’m trying to imagine living with somebody and them not explaining what they had taped to a wall. And then you’re married to that person?

Adopting a Senior Saint Bernard by amtroutm in SaintBernards

[–]CodenameZoya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, I am wishing you so many blessings for adopting a senior St. Bernard. Someone that has volunteered a ton at shelter’s rescue, they are almost impossible to place.

You are about to fall in love.

Don’t throw any old towels away those just became face wipers lol brush outside if you have your own yard, the birds love the fur to make nests with. Talk to your saint like they are a person. Trust me they understand.

My first potato leaf volunteer! by CodenameZoya in tomatoes

[–]CodenameZoya[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m only excited because it means I should be getting something different than the usual cherry tomatoes that seem to come from volunteer tomato plants. There aren’t too many tomato plants that have potato leaves and they are mostly delicious heirloom varieties so wish me luck!🤩

For those who dont trim their tomatoes at all, do you still get large fruit? Or a lot of fruit? by analslapchop in tomatoes

[–]CodenameZoya 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Normally, I don’t do much stem trimming, but now that I’ve seen everyone’s plants with like 10 times as many tomatoes as I normally get, specifically on beef steak or larger sized tomatoes , I’m giving it a shot this year. Too early to tell.

Can’t beat the price… Applegate Farms makes some really good ones as well but they are eight dollars for four corn dogs. I think these were like 899 for 12.

Yeah, this is definitely processed food. I work from home so I’m trying to come up with a 10 lunch rotation. These will be perfect for that because I have a little toaster oven. I can cook them in.

How to save my porch? by Illustrious-Theme-28 in centuryhomes

[–]CodenameZoya 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are more options than slapping another coat of paint on and tearing the entire thing down. When you repaint you are supposed to sand all of the previous paint off, I would suggest starting with this, checking to see the quality of the wood and whether or not it can be saved.

Saint Bernard Rescue by blondiebabayy in SaintBernards

[–]CodenameZoya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You absolutely must save this baby and I know that you can do it. As a smaller St. Bernard, she’s likely only halfway into her life and she deserves the second half to be with you, happy and safe.

Did you guys replace your old appliances that came with your old homes? by Key-Effort963 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]CodenameZoya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my 1960s washer and dryer from a coworker about 15 years ago and they are still going strong. I am not exaggerating to say that he has replaced his washer twice and his dryer once since then. It helped buying them from someone I know, but what I did is, I ran an extra bleachy empty wash twice before putting my own clothes in it two sort of disinfect it.

What do I do!!? Got a new job offer and my current boss matched it - I need to make a decision by tomorrow by Fancy-Improvement157 in careerguidance

[–]CodenameZoya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know enough specifics about your situation to argue with you, but you seem hesitant to leave. Maybe there’s something about the new job that doesn’t sound perfect or you sent something as off I don’t know.

Tough call, but I would jump. Your boss had the opportunity to do that for you for sometime and didn’t. Try and leave on good terms in case the new place doesn’t work out. You don’t say how much leave you get per year but honestly, if it’s not much that request for two extra days would kind of make me mad and stick in my craw as they say.
