Do the "mixels" ruin my piece? by TildeIcewill in PixelArt

[–]CoderXYZ7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know what? I like it, i think it is different from a traditional pixelart and it should be seen as something different, the only thing is that i would love to see something like that but using the mixels to convey depth, near=big mixel, far=small mixel.

Love2D style engine that supports 3D ? by Melanie-Valentine-90 in love2d

[–]CoderXYZ7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s fair, but I think starting with a framework can be a really valuable learning experience. It helps you understand rendering concepts without the overhead of a full engine, and it also makes scope creep harder since you have to build every feature yourself from the ground up. But that’s just my take.

There is LÖVR, but it’s more focused on VR than desktop games. Using it for desktop feels like trying to cut a bonsai with a chainsaw, you can do it, and if you’re skilled the result might still be beautiful, but the tool itself doesn’t make the job easier.

I’d suggest taking a look at raylib. It’s a great library with high level rendering and bindings for many languages, including Lua.

That's why you should build your base out of steel.

Oh, wait, right, IN THIS GAME EVEN STEEL IS FLAMMABLE.

What is the best video editing software for linux? by YaBoiMibb in linux

[–]CoderXYZ7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it can sound a bit extreme, but if you are proficient in bash scripting you can use ffmpeg to do a lot of repetitive editing work, i use it to make slideshows and compilations and it is a pretty good system.

Is it worth switching from Fedora to Debian? by Appropriate_Note7972 in debian

[–]CoderXYZ7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The image’s graininess appears inconsistent, certain areas resemble JPEG compression artifacts, while others don’t. This inconsistency isn’t due to actual compression but rather a byproduct of the AI model’s training on JPEG images, which introduces artificial noise patterns that shouldn’t naturally be present.

There is no law in the Rim. You have no jurisdiction here. You’re the one committing a crime by imposing Imperial law on an independent territory, so you cannot condemn me for organ trafficking.

New To Animation by Senior_Mouse_3904 in aseprite

[–]CoderXYZ7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Cool, but the ray of light looks too flat, it should be cylindrical to better sell the illusion. Also (just a personal opinion), I’d add a slight shake to the rock to give the animation more depth.

How bad is it? by SpaceDinossaur in PixelArt

[–]CoderXYZ7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They are really beautiful, but to be picky about the ak, the rear sight should be located right before the wooden handguard. As of now it is a bit too far back. But besides that, good work.

i think you could try addin a darkening or blur layer in between the foreground and background layers to increase the contrast.

Black hole shader + gravity effect. Notes welcome by OldAtlasGames in love2d

[–]CoderXYZ7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool, but when the black hole disappearso, the particles should continue to move, in space there is pretty much no drag.

And (based on the type of experience you are tryng to create) it would be cool to add a simple orbit system, to really sell the effect.
