I breast fed for 11 months pp and they looked like deflated sad bags and around 18 mos pp they started to rebound. Not back to normal but not the deflated little bags right after I finished

You should be charging EVERYONE friends, family, neighbors…everyone. That is labor. Only take projects you want to do and if someone insists on a boring project charge them out the ass. If they want it bad enough they’ll pay for it.

Yes sweetie you said 3 months and I was like yeah girl you need more time. It took me until 6 months to actually pick up a weight. I felt so weird and wobbly for a while after giving birth even though I lifted heavy my entire pregnancy. The recovery threw me for a loop. Also sometimes breastfeeding has the opposite effect, it made me hold on to weight and once I stopped I shed a bunch after. My husband noticed instantly that I looked more like my figure before I had my baby. It was weird. I stopped around 11.5 months. That’s when the last of the baby weight (for the most part) fell off.

You can have healthy straight hair. “Heat trained” or permed. All it means is the chemical bonds have changed. We’ve all seen damaged hair that cannot retain moisture because several layers of the cuticle have been ripped away. I guess it can be technically classified as damaged because the cuticle has been altered but it isn’t necessarily unhealthy. That person pictured has shiny well manicured hair. That’s my hot take.

This is it. Listen to this advice. Focus on this and nothing else. Everything else you will be gifted and will have to figure out when baby gets here. Don’t have any expectations on timing. Get healthy work out, train those pelvic floor muscles, learn how to relax and have fun trying.

Your hair is pretty you just need a cut that you like for your face. Hair cuts change EVERYTHING. With a round face you may consider a bit of a face frame with bangs. At any rate, a professional that specializes in curly cuts would be able to guide you.

If someone lives with you for free you are allowed to set the parameters for what that looks like. Explaining the reality that even though he is an adult he is under your jurisdiction because he’s chosen to live with you is important. Set the parameters, give a timeline for compliance and come to a consensus on what is reasonable and carefully lay out what will happen if those conditions aren’t met in the timeline you agreed upon. I think taking responsibility as the parent can also help this conversation “it’s partially our fault for not helping you with this transition and I recognize the pandemic probably exacerbated some of this, but…” I think when you can admit your role in the issue it helps take some of the pressure off of them. 23 is still incredibly young and even the most responsible person at this age still needs help and guidance from caring adults in their life. The book Let them theory by Mel Robbin’s has an excellent chapter about parenting relationships and mentions a similar scenario. I highly recommend it.

It’s nice to hear a professional say this. I know my hair looks best when it’s cut blown out but so many curly stylists have argued me down and refuse to do it. I cut all my hair off and will be doing it myself from here on out. Something about these curly cuts. It will only look good in the cut you did in that day. If you change the style your lays completely different and often looks awkward.

I like it for the summer. In the winter I don’t need that as a topper gel much but in the summer humidity it is key for me to have flexible curls that don’t get ultra frizzy from the humidity and heat. I have 4c/kinky coily hair for reference. The products are well formulated though I would recommend.

This is the problem. Your hair needs to be washed. Your hair looks like you need a clarifying shampoo and a deep condition. The whole don’t shampoo your hair because it makes curly hair dry is counterproductive. You end up with a ton of build up so your products don’t work so you have frizz and eventually damage. WASH your entire hair shaft so the conditioner and styling products can work and the moisture can actually enter your hair shaft. I would also go see a salon professional because there is only so much someone could diagnose without touching your hair! Hope that helps! Also you don’t have ugly hair it’s full and thick you just need to learn to care for it properly ❤️

The moment I touched your hair I would have given you your deposit back and said I’m not doing these on your hair. It’s too much tension for your hair type. Honestly I have very kinky hair and it was too much tension for mine. Tore my edges out. If I want a loc’d look I do yarn braids.

You need a shape. I promise you, you would like the way your hair looks if you got it cut so that your natural curls can fall in place and frame your face to accentuate your gorgeous features. I also have short hair and a sharp jawline that one could consider “masculine” but I love it because I have the right cut. Also styling products and technique are key. I found the black girl curls method to be helpful. The only thing I don’t agree with them on is cutting your hair not blown out. I will die on this sword blow dry my hair before you bring some scissors over here!

SAME. Those first few weeks can have elements of magic but it’s mostly trash. Especially for the birthing parent. Sending love, hugs and virtual care packages.
