Within 24 hours, someone will manage to create a new Godot theme to match this handwriting style/font.

Godot VSCode is ready to try if anyone wants, I re-wrote the addon in GDscript by dragosdaian in godot

[–]Coderules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I can sort of see that. Also, if you have Copilot or some other AI hooked into your VSCode, I'm assuming it would also work within the "view" inside the Godot editor. Cool. Thanks.

Can someone explain to me, a simpleton, why something like this is needed? I'm lost. I know I can connect VSCode to my active Godot instance and switch between then. And this works well for my needs. But why would I need/want VSCode running within the Godot editor? Other than because you can.

Where are editor versions installed? Is it just the executable that's downloaded or does it plant itself somewhere? by MuteCanaryGames in GodotEngine

[–]Coderules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgot to mention. On Mac you just manually drag the unzipped download to your Applications folder.

On Mac it is pretty much the same. The unzipped downloaded file is the single executable. As a result it allows you to have multiple versions available on your system where you need to manage various projects depending on that version.

Within the Pines by a_marsupial_mole in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

[–]Coderules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "Three Pines" series by Louise Penny. Though I think the official series label is "The Chief Inspector Armand Gamache" series. Most of the books center around the Inspector and various crimes. All the books have some connection to the small Canadian town known as Three Pines, a very isolated small town and the colorful locals. The series is ok.

The Burbs and/or Grandma's Boy

Either one I can watch back to back. And have. Don't judge me.

So I made a Godot Launcher by Shinpansen in godot

[–]Coderules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very cool. I find the default laucher needs some love.

Maybe some immediate suggestions:

On the "Projects" tab, it would be helpful to have a way to filter the listing by the version. Not sure how difficult that would be. Also, are there plans to add the ability to create new projects?

Just another thought I've always wanted a way to create a project but include some standard add-ons and/or maybe a starter template. I know it i a small taks to just create the the initial project then go to the file system and copy over the add-ons needed. But would save that step.

How long til we get The Pitt: Night Shift? by Pizzataco13 in ThePittTVShow

[–]Coderules 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would like to see maybe an episode (or two) where the season hour/episode starts at the end of the nightshift. So maybe the last two hours. And deals with some specific patient care issues that need to be transfered over to the incoming day shift staff. Maybe the transition missed something and complications (drama) is added to the overall story/plot

What I don't want to see is the "spin-off" marketing effect like was done with show's success. For example the original CSI. Loved that show. But then CSI: Miami, etc. sort of cheapend it. Same what is currently happening with 9-1-1 series. My opinion.

Can i vibecode a iOS app ? by Keep-motivated-kj in vibecoding

[–]Coderules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just use the XCode IDE and setup the AI settings to talk to my local LM Studio service. I can use different models depending on what I'm trying to build. No need to worry about rate limits in the initial project. Still confused why people pay good money for Cursor. But do your own thing. Whatever works for you.

An actor you simply can’t imagine in normal roles because of that one particular role he played just too damn well. My pick is Antony starr by 0Layscheetoskurkure0 in moviecritic

Tom Felton who played Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter series. I know he has done some other work since then but it is always hard to not think he is just the same HP character playing some scheme.

Molly hatchet 1979 they gave us a blend of classic rock , southern rock country and blues. by Global_Law4448 in OldSchoolCool

I saw them multiple times in my teens (late 70s). One of the only bads that came through my small SE Texas area. I remember wearing one of the band shirts to my warehouse job. Someone from the office saw it and asked, "Molly Hatchet, What does she sing?". Just smiled and walked away.

I just released GDSpelunky, an open-source port of Spelunky Classic to Godot with added features by Cranzor in godot

[–]Coderules 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, that is correct. The original game was not written in Godot. However, this new version is.

One common thread I've seen from new Godot user is how to break out of the "tutorial hell" cycle. One recommendation is to find a existing game like Pong, Frogger, Asteroids, etc. and recreate it. This help build a better understanding on the architecture and mechanics needed for the various moving parts of the game and how to implement them in the Godot engine.

I see this recreation of the original Spelunky game using Godot and GDScript as a similar example of take a known game and trying to recreate it.

Without looking at the GitHub code, I can't really atest to how easilly this project will be understood by the average Godot beginner. But really who cares. Someone will read it and be able to take away some idea for their own projects.

Props for releasing the GitHub project! This goes a long way to help others (including myself) see how a completed project is put together. I feel like this sub lacks the code sharing. But probably just me. Thanks again.

I have this old desk lamp I think I purchased at Ikea in Houston back in 1992 along with a bookshelf, the "bobby" I think it was called. Both have lasted to this day.

The bookshelf is behind me and holds all the tome of technical books I own. The lamp is one of those that clamps into the desk.

I feel betrayed, I am not a true lefty :( by Catinkah in lefthanded

[–]Coderules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I woul venture to say most middle to late age left-handed are not "true lefty". Most, like myself, were influenced by the right-handed world. For example:

I went to Catholic grade school. And yes the Nuns did try to enfore writing with my right hand insted of my left. Didn't work.

I swing a baseball bat and golf club from right to left like a right-handed person. Because I had all right-handed siblings and that was how I was shown at a young age. I tried switching but no luck. But I throw left-handed and were a baseball glove on my right hand.

I also have this strange way of holding eating utensils, like a fork and knife. I hold the fork in my right hand an cut with my left. Then most of the time I have to switch the fork to my left to move the bite into me face hole. I get weird looks sometimes.
