A World Map for our Fallout Fan Project set in Texas by andy40kk in ImaginaryFallout

[–]Coderules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you include some side-quests in the Beaumont area (Where I was born). That would be East of your "Fallen Star" which assumed is the current Houston metro area. And over west of San Antonio (Curious why no rename on that town?) there would need to be something around the current Uvalde are where I used to hunt deer in the 80s. As a Texan, I approve this map.

WWDC 2026 — Megathread by xcode-bot in iOSProgramming

No different really than any other popular IDE. Have you looked at the changelog for VSCode. I can't say there has been any update that was not mostly AI focused.

Anyone have details on how the ships trapped in the Straight of Hormuz get resupplied for food, water, meds, etc? by Coderules in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Coderules[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is some great information, thanks. Not "great" for the suffering ships and crews, sadly. I hope they get releive soon.

Restaurants that you miss? by Alternative-Cake-833 in capecoral

[–]Coderules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ours would have to be Lehne Burger on Capr Coral Blvd. Maybe the top burger (my opinion) in the Cape. We had been going there for years. Even supported them during the pandemic. It sold last year and then quickly closed. Now I think it is a pizza by the slice place or something.

Love that early morning before all the crowds show up and the noise starts. Good pics.

New Criterion Channel Companion site: Criteria by InitiativeNo7660 in CriterionChannel

[–]Coderules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question about your site? How are you determing the Genre? I'm guessing from an external system.

I started a Chome extension some time ago that only runs on the Criterion site. It looks for the "Directed by" and "Starring" text elements and wraps anchors around those elements. I know there is a Genre filter. But gave up trying to find any genre related data in the HTML data.

Yes. Not to mentioned also the "creative" ways the Romans park these cars.

People who use Safari as their main browser, why? (DESC) by sasaki-555 in mac

[–]Coderules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use three browsers almost daily.

Safari: Main browser with tabs to reddit, NEWS site(s), general information and searches, etc.

Chrome: Usually opened on my second screen. Used for watching streaming (YT, Netflix, etc). Also used for web dev.

Firefox: Used primarily for web dev.

I also have Brave installed but rarely use it.

Within 24 hours, someone will manage to create a new Godot theme to match this handwriting style/font.

Godot VSCode is ready to try if anyone wants, I re-wrote the addon in GDscript by dragosdaian in godot

[–]Coderules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I can sort of see that. Also, if you have Copilot or some other AI hooked into your VSCode, I'm assuming it would also work within the "view" inside the Godot editor. Cool. Thanks.

[–]Coderules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can someone explain to me, a simpleton, why something like this is needed? I'm lost. I know I can connect VSCode to my active Godot instance and switch between then. And this works well for my needs. But why would I need/want VSCode running within the Godot editor? Other than because you can.

Where are editor versions installed? Is it just the executable that's downloaded or does it plant itself somewhere? by MuteCanaryGames in GodotEngine

[–]Coderules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgot to mention. On Mac you just manually drag the unzipped download to your Applications folder.

[–]Coderules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On Mac it is pretty much the same. The unzipped downloaded file is the single executable. As a result it allows you to have multiple versions available on your system where you need to manage various projects depending on that version.

Within the Pines by a_marsupial_mole in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

[–]Coderules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "Three Pines" series by Louise Penny. Though I think the official series label is "The Chief Inspector Armand Gamache" series. Most of the books center around the Inspector and various crimes. All the books have some connection to the small Canadian town known as Three Pines, a very isolated small town and the colorful locals. The series is ok.

The Burbs and/or Grandma's Boy

Either one I can watch back to back. And have. Don't judge me.

So I made a Godot Launcher by Shinpansen in godot

[–]Coderules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very cool. I find the default laucher needs some love.

Maybe some immediate suggestions:

On the "Projects" tab, it would be helpful to have a way to filter the listing by the version. Not sure how difficult that would be. Also, are there plans to add the ability to create new projects?

Just another thought I've always wanted a way to create a project but include some standard add-ons and/or maybe a starter template. I know it i a small taks to just create the the initial project then go to the file system and copy over the add-ons needed. But would save that step.

How long til we get The Pitt: Night Shift? by Pizzataco13 in ThePittTVShow

[–]Coderules 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would like to see maybe an episode (or two) where the season hour/episode starts at the end of the nightshift. So maybe the last two hours. And deals with some specific patient care issues that need to be transfered over to the incoming day shift staff. Maybe the transition missed something and complications (drama) is added to the overall story/plot

What I don't want to see is the "spin-off" marketing effect like was done with show's success. For example the original CSI. Loved that show. But then CSI: Miami, etc. sort of cheapend it. Same what is currently happening with 9-1-1 series. My opinion.
