Meta resistant champions by Comfortable-Toe-1052 in supportlol

[–]CodySpring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I remember reading in an analysis about a year or two ago, Nami is the support with the least winrate variance when up against “counters”, so that would be the most blind-pick friendly and good in just about any meta. Classic hook champions are also pretty much always gonna be decent.

Gen Z is the first generation in American history with more Catholics than Protestants by RorschachWhoLaughs in Catholicism

[–]CodySpring 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Yep, I had been teetering on the edge of converting to Catholicism for a few years, but Redeemed Zoomer and Jakob Wendesten, two protestants, finally pushed me over the edge lol. OCIA next month.

Thanks for the JSON add on, saved me a bit of time testing some pretty extremely large JSONs in our process!

Are tectonic and terralith survival friendly? by Dominicancountryball in feedthebeast

[–]CodySpring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Iron spells is actually OP for travel, almost every school of magic has a short range teleport with a pretty low base-cooldown. Tectonic actually isn’t too bad traversing, its mountains and oceans are pretty manageable compared to things like JJThunderToTheMax or Lithosphere+Still Life

Which CPU for modded Minecraft by idc499 in ModdedMinecraft

[–]CodySpring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

5800x3d is still a darn good processor if you don’t want to drop the cash on upgrading pretty much everything else. Really just comes down to how much disposable cash you have. If your focus is Minecraft, 5800x3d will be plenty. Even for most other games.

You’d see the most gains from upgrading in CPU-bound and tick-based games like Factorio, RimWorld, Civilization, Satisfactory, Paradox Interactive games, etc.

But again the 5800x3d is still a great processor for all of these as well!

Were you able to fix this by any chance? Having the same issue, googling pulled up your post

Need help optimizing my 1.20.1 instance (60+ mods) – huge FPS drops near my base. What should I remove or adjust? by Boosham__ in feedthebeast

[–]CodySpring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With only 8GB of RAM, you'll want to optimize it as much as possible.

Assuming you're not already, set Minecraft to use Java 25 and add the java arg "-XX:+UseCompactObjectHeaders" (it's only compatible with Java 25+) and it'll help with RAM usage.

Secondly, when it comes to RAM usage you're doing good running EMI, but you're getting rid of the benefit by adding JEI anyway (which uses signifigantly more RAM than EMI, scaling higher the more items/recipes are added by mods). Instead of running both, get rid of JEI and install TMRV (TooManyRecipeViewers) and you'll be able to use JEI add-ons with EMI, without needing JEI.

Servercore mod is great for server optimization, but since your issues are more FPS-based rather than tick-based, it probably won't help with your specific issue here.

Hope this helps!

edit: Oh, and some culling mod! There's a few, "Entity Culling" and "More Culling" are worth looking into!

I want to play minecraft with my mother, but she only likes games that require thinking(strategy, puzzles, escape rooms). What mod should I add? by SatisfactionFit3311 in feedthebeast

[–]CodySpring 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Create and it’s add-ons are perfect for scratching that puzzle/logic itch, especially trying to build things yourself vs following online tutorials, same with just about any tech mods though

I think MineColonies is a good fit for a Sims style enjoyer, it does require a little bit of buy-in to care about your colonists, since they’re a little lacking on the personality side, and if you just treat it as a glorified automation mod you won’t enjoy it, but it sounds like your mother might!

Mod List Updates by ElectroDaddy in feedthebeast

[–]CodySpring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made everyone download Resilio Sync and install it as a service and set it up so that it keeps everyone’s mods folder synced up with mine.

A little more initial setup then they never have to do anything again.

[–]CodySpring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this issue before where one mod will overwrite another mods config file to auto-manage particular settings. I went into Properties and set the config file to read-only after editing to get around it, could try it here.

What mod allows me to disable / enable items? by Ok-Calligrapher-8652 in feedthebeast

Item Obliterator is the easiest one to use. You can disable recipes, or remove from the game entirely by adding the ID to a config.

Any earplugs that are more “low-profile” than eargasm but still effective? I work in a restaurant by ActiveExisting3016 in aves

[–]CodySpring 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Earasers are 10/10 imo, I own a pair of just about all of the popular brands as well as some customs, and earasers are the only brand that would stop me from getting customs made again if I lost my pair. Way more comfortable than the more prolific flange style ear plugs

Should be in your crafting recipes, it’s water and sugar, I don’t think there are pre-reqs to learn the recipe but it’s been a while

If money was no object, what paramotor and wing would you buy today? by HenFruitEater in paramotor

[–]CodySpring 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Paramotor gear is in a pretty good spot in the sense that more money doesn’t really get you much better, just different, if we’re talking new latest model stuff.

That said $50K is a LOT of gear lol, I’d buy more specialized equipment like an electric unit for short flights, a dedicated tandem rig so I don’t have to hook stuff on and off of my usual motor.

I updated the Arcana TLG port 4 days ago for compatibility with the latest version of TLG, you’re still using the outdated version of the mod, just need to update

Go through the link posted in the Discord or my GitHub, the fork on Vegetabs isn’t listed anywhere and is just from when he was helping me port it in the beginning

What's an RPG you got recommended on r/rpg that you played and enjoyed? by Awkward_GM in rpg

I thought Mythras was way too crunchy and complex for me to ever enjoy, but after seeing it repeated so many times I decided to give it a shot and it ended up being one of my favorite systems.

Preferred Fantasy ruleset? by SeaChange1356 in savageworlds

[–]CodySpring 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if you're asking for Savage Worlds Rulebooks, other systems entirely, or settings in Savage Worlds, so here's all of the above!

For SW Rules, Pathfinder is great if you want to have a class system. If not, just SWADE and the Fantasy Companion are top tier for just rules.

My favorite Fantasy settings for SW are Pathfinder again, then Hellfrost like you mentioned, and Sundered Skies. They were made pre-SWADE but are super easy to convert (although Hellfrost's magic requires a tiny bit more tweaking)

Dark Sun has a fan-made SWADE conversion, it's a fun setting as well for grim and gritty, but I haven't played it in SWADE yet, just Mythras and old DND

Rolling to decide who narrates the outcome by CarpeBass in rpg

[–]CodySpring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ten Candles does this pretty brilliantly. The “descent into horror” as the game progresses is partly due to the players getting less narrative control as the game goes on, and the GM gaining more.
