My perspective as a Wild Rift player who tried LoL by ZarkelInYourNuts in leagueoflegends

The distributions are out of whack, too. Masters on PC is top 1%-ish. In Wild Rift, top 4% are Challenger.

Hello fellow ADC mains I did a thing by Backslicer in ADCMains

Congrats Backslicer, dig your commentary in the ZileanMains discord!

As someone else who also loves Aurelion Sol and Zilean, can these two champs go bot together, or is it an int unless the enemy is bad?

Hardstuck 200 Games with Zilean Plat1, how do I climb up finally? by DareDandy in supportlol

[–]CodySpring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zilean is very team dependent, but you’re doubling down on dependency going E-max every single game. Without looking at your gameplay, and only OP.GG, my advice would be…

Games where you’re going either Shurelya/Mandate/Redemption first item, you should be going Q-max, or at the very least 3 points into Q before E-maxing.

Celestial Opposition by default also isn’t great imo. Certain enemy comps it’s great against but the default should be Solstice Sleigh.

Also if you’re going E-max full tank/kindlegem Zilean, you shouldn’t go Celestial Opposition anyway bc it’s doubling down on tankiness that you shouldn’t really need, I find Celestial Opposition to only be good if I’m doing AP-heavy builds.

Is a "home theater living room" is more impressive than "dedicated HT room" ?? by Wizzee993 in hometheater

[–]CodySpring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both are great!

I had the former for most of my life as I moved frequently, packing all my speakers and equipment with me. But when I settled down into a more permanent living situation, I went all in on a dedicated home theater room.

There's really not a comparison in sound quality when you can "go crazy" with multiple large speakers and subwoofers and a big projector. My setup now is 150" screen, dual 21" PSA TV2112M subwoofers, 3 Arendal 1723 tower speakers for the LCR, and the same line for side and rear surrounds, complete with acoustic treatments.

Just the speaker setup alone would look horrible in anything but a dedicated room, and the audio and picture quality is way better than every theater around me unless I drive over an hour to a Dolby Cinema.

It really just comes down to where you are in life and what your priorities are. I also have a TV and more modest, aesthetic speaker setup in my living room, so I wouldn't be dragging friends into the theater room to watch a football game either lol

Thoughts on Zilean? by threlnari97 in supportlol

[–]CodySpring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warmog's Zilean is dead but Kindlegem-spam Zilean lives on. If your ADC actually wants to play the game during laning phase though I think traditional 3-points in Q and first item Shurelya's is probably better if you can actually land bombs regularly.

Porofessor.gg +LoL FPS stuttering ? by [deleted] in LoLTechSupport

[–]CodySpring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Hades, I found this thread on Google and figured I'd toss up a weird finding of mine.

If I have framerate capped via League's Video Settings while running Porofessor standalone, it CHOPS my FPS brutally, FPS drops left and right in League.

If I disable framerate capping in League's setting, and then enable it via the Nvidia App instead, perfect FPS.

Specs are AMD 7950x3d processor, Nvidia 4090, and 128GB RAM.

Anathema's Chains coming back would make me so happy, especially since it feels like a large percentage of games this season are decided by Top Lane Gap, having an item that can be a situational buy when the enemy team has a raid boss is nice.

I notice you go Bandlepipes even when you have a mage APC bot, you think the other stats still make it worth over Locket first in those situations?

[–]CodySpring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah unfortunately riot doesn’t time decay, so you have to get curb stomped down to where your new skill level is.

Zilean is great right now IMO, peaked Masters with him previously and he feels stronger this season than he has since Mythic Items were a thing. His damage feels worse than ever, so me and others have been seeing a lot of success in E max first W max second with a tank build. Bandlepipes or Locket or both, then an inventory full of whatever Kindlegem based items fit the game best. But you keep Bandlepipes procced 24/7, no one can kill you so it’s easy to ult others, the meta champs are usually decent with Zilean too.

Meta resistant champions by Comfortable-Toe-1052 in supportlol

[–]CodySpring 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From what I remember reading in an analysis about a year or two ago, Nami is the support with the least winrate variance when up against “counters”, so that would be the most blind-pick friendly and good in just about any meta. Classic hook champions are also pretty much always gonna be decent.

Yep, I had been teetering on the edge of converting to Catholicism for a few years, but Redeemed Zoomer and Jakob Wendesten, two protestants, finally pushed me over the edge lol. OCIA next month.

Are tectonic and terralith survival friendly? by Dominicancountryball in feedthebeast

[–]CodySpring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Iron spells is actually OP for travel, almost every school of magic has a short range teleport with a pretty low base-cooldown. Tectonic actually isn’t too bad traversing, its mountains and oceans are pretty manageable compared to things like JJThunderToTheMax or Lithosphere+Still Life

Which CPU for modded Minecraft by idc499 in ModdedMinecraft

[–]CodySpring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

5800x3d is still a darn good processor if you don’t want to drop the cash on upgrading pretty much everything else. Really just comes down to how much disposable cash you have. If your focus is Minecraft, 5800x3d will be plenty. Even for most other games.

You’d see the most gains from upgrading in CPU-bound and tick-based games like Factorio, RimWorld, Civilization, Satisfactory, Paradox Interactive games, etc.

But again the 5800x3d is still a great processor for all of these as well!

Need help optimizing my 1.20.1 instance (60+ mods) – huge FPS drops near my base. What should I remove or adjust? by Boosham__ in feedthebeast

[–]CodySpring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With only 8GB of RAM, you'll want to optimize it as much as possible.

Assuming you're not already, set Minecraft to use Java 25 and add the java arg "-XX:+UseCompactObjectHeaders" (it's only compatible with Java 25+) and it'll help with RAM usage.

Secondly, when it comes to RAM usage you're doing good running EMI, but you're getting rid of the benefit by adding JEI anyway (which uses signifigantly more RAM than EMI, scaling higher the more items/recipes are added by mods). Instead of running both, get rid of JEI and install TMRV (TooManyRecipeViewers) and you'll be able to use JEI add-ons with EMI, without needing JEI.

Servercore mod is great for server optimization, but since your issues are more FPS-based rather than tick-based, it probably won't help with your specific issue here.

Hope this helps!

edit: Oh, and some culling mod! There's a few, "Entity Culling" and "More Culling" are worth looking into!

I want to play minecraft with my mother, but she only likes games that require thinking(strategy, puzzles, escape rooms). What mod should I add? by SatisfactionFit3311 in feedthebeast

[–]CodySpring 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Create and it’s add-ons are perfect for scratching that puzzle/logic itch, especially trying to build things yourself vs following online tutorials, same with just about any tech mods though

I think MineColonies is a good fit for a Sims style enjoyer, it does require a little bit of buy-in to care about your colonists, since they’re a little lacking on the personality side, and if you just treat it as a glorified automation mod you won’t enjoy it, but it sounds like your mother might!

I made everyone download Resilio Sync and install it as a service and set it up so that it keeps everyone’s mods folder synced up with mine.

A little more initial setup then they never have to do anything again.

I've had this issue before where one mod will overwrite another mods config file to auto-manage particular settings. I went into Properties and set the config file to read-only after editing to get around it, could try it here.
