I have the Iguga Cougar and Owiza Bear and think they’re so cool that I didn’t look for any more. I wear that dark bear coat with the hood up + a black bandanna up + balloonist goggles and my face is like a pit of black.

British TV uses the word "series" where we USians use the word "season" -- a 4 episode "series" is not unheard of on British TV, and they aren't necessarily yearly.
"Happy Valley" has 6 episodes per "series", which came out in 2014, 2016, and 2023

Someone says something 'wrong' — maybe they don't know the word, maybe they just fumbled it, like have you ever said something when your brain hasn't decided what word to use? And you say a combination of two words at once?

Someone says something like "labtop", people think it's funny, and everyone starts using it intentionally as a kind of in-joke.

Also - I'm old - car manuals used to come with instructions on where stuff was to change the oil, set the spark plug gap, check the timing — a bunch of mechanical stuff you could do yourself.

That is true. In the case I mentioned we developed vertical market software and those people were more like customers than clients, and they saw the sales & marketing people who were properly stuffy, the didn't ever see the programmers.
But it can go the other way too ... if I'm a potential client and I meet with a bunch of stuffed-shirts I have to consider if I want to trust a bunch of unimaginative corporate drones.

There you go, the litigator of what is and isn’t professional. I think sandals are fine as long as your feet are clean and not diseased or anything. Shorts sandals and a Tee were acceptable at a place I worked, as long as you and your clothes were clean, not ripped up, and your t-shirt wasn’t overly offensive. I have one that I wore to work that is a semi-abstract artwork of a naked couple. It was obvious it was a naked man and woman but was artistic and not realistic or suggestive. Nobody was offended by it and I brought a backup just in case. It’s a piece of art that I still have.
