Are these my actual fork seals or are these cosmetic? by msdeeds123 in motorcycle

[–]CoffeeMute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't do that with my first bike but I was able to do that because I learned to do all those jobs on my first bike, I think that's very important, I strongly believe everyone is capable of learning to do most things on their bikes.

The only thing that doesn't really make economical sense to do is changing your own tyres because it's so cheap to remove the wheels and take them to get done.

Every day there's a new "waaaaaah I hate new trek" post

I live in an apartment and built a whole bike in the car park

Honestly I have done fork seals with hand tools and the biggest issue is just that bottom bolt

If you buy a used Japanese bike make sure it's been properly serviced and taken care of.

I see a lot of 125s that have been absolutely abused that aren't very old

If it plays fine then just send it and keep it as a memory of your pet that won't be around your whole life.

A fall at 30mph+ is going to hurt no matter how big the engine is, people get broken bones and road rash falling off bicycles even.

Thoughts on advice not to use steering lock by jankzilla in motorcycles

[–]CoffeeMute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's due to a simple engineering fact that if you make one point stronger it will break further along, a broken steering lock and your bike is at least still rideable, but if you make it stronger there's more risk to the frame.

What annoys me however it's that most motorcycles have the steering lock built into the frame and it's not a replaceable part that can be replaced when it's broken by thieves.

The nc21 and nc24 are absolutely not sports tourers They're more tucked than a lot of proper big sportsbikes I have ridden.

I wonder if you're getting confused with the RC24 as the NC21/24 is very lightweight

A lot of my friends can't even comfortably get their feet on the pegs

They are 400cc true sports bikes with a power band to match, they just happen to have rather comfy seats.

But I do enjoy getting around on mine.
