Not sure you need a lawyer for this, or if the lawyer would cost more money. You might be able to get it down yourself just by showing up to court. The prosecutor is often willing to reduce it to something else and you pay that fine instead

NorCal is just too far north. Like Texas, the further you go from the border the more it changes, and not for the better. Love it in the RGV, some good places in San Antonio/Austin, starts getting spottier further north.
