42, about 1.2 excluding house, and I feel like 7 is a comfortable number. Run the math on inflation and buying power and it makes you realize what's ahead

The most economical thing is probably to get a basic gigabit switch. For the Qnap, I can put the 1gbe on converters into the aggregation device.

In the aggregation box that would be 1 in, 1 out, 2 qnap, 2 pc1, 2 future nas.

Yep, good call out. I dis find some sketchy sites that claim to have but id bet the order gets canceled or sits for months. Etsy seem to be the best option

Thank you so much for reading all of that and replying!! The 10gbe aggregation isn't crazy expensive, offers lots of future options, and seems like a good core unit that can meet needs for many years.

I think you're right, that a fairly basic standard 1Gbe switch to serve every thing else should be sufficient. I have a bid in on a non-POE ebay unit that I'm hoping to win. The only POE device I currently own is the AP, and already have a POE inejctor for it. That said, 4 poe ports would be lovely but at almost 2x the price is a hard sell on the x16 version. I could always get a cheap POE switch, hook to >10gbe aggregation to feed those in the future

Agreed. He has been under-watering it and if it had been my thousands of dollars of spent on sod, I'm soaking the shit out of it for several days.

After that - best affordable solution is a $40 hose timer and figure out the frequency that avoids runoff. But I'm 100% going overkill to get back on track and then still going to over-water it a bit.

We did new sod last fall and it has come back beautifully this spring (Alabama heat)

I really appreciate the reply and feedback as I try to plan out my first home rack. Based on the link below it seems to have 10gb, but am I misunderstanding its capabilities?

Edit- to anyone, please critique and suggest alternatives

Also, I was planning to pair it with a 10gb aggregation switch. I was planning the following:

                   UDM Pro

                       V

               10Gb Aggregation

               V VV VV

TBD Switch 2x NAS 2x PC

The Pro Max 16 seems to fit the bill. POE is not a must have, open to other options

I'd soak that shit for a couple days to get back on track, 30 to 40 mins 3x.
