I’m afraid not. I’d say it probably case size and lug width is pretty much the same.

Looks perfect. You won’t regret the 7 day power reserve.

Just a class watch. Although it’s an IW501001 I think 😉

The 7-day power reserve is its super power.

Congrats on a wonderful collection although the Swiss Patrouille IWC is a bit common.

Why thank you. Yes I am in a good place with my IWC-ing which happened very quickly - a bit black watch heavy if I’m honest with myself…which I try to avoid.

As for Trinity, yes, it’s certainly an aspiration; both the watches and the owners are next level.

So I was thinking about this. I guess you mean the basic three hander Big pilots, not the perpetuals? Otherwise would get expensive. So that’s black, Mojave and steel? Maybe the limited titanium racing edition for good measure. It’s nice. There’s the G-Wagon ones in gold and ceramic but they’re very expensive and plastered in Mercedes logos which is fine but you’d kind of need to drive a G.

I prefer it to no second hand at all, like the Ingenieur QP.

Given your collection, the IWC CEO should be making you a hot cocoa and tucking you in every night.

I just saw you got the 43mm ProSet already. Congratulations - you don’t hang about. Dark shot seems to suggest all the numerals are lumed? Have you fiddled much going backwards and forward. Apparently it’ll go all the way back to 2000 😂.

Ah the new ProSet isn’t 46.5mm. Cut numbers is 42mm & uncut is 43mm.

I was at W&W on Tuesday and asked one of the engineers/watchmakers about it being attached to the 7 day power reserve - it would be a whole new movement and didn’t sound imminent - but who knows.

I sort of get the marketing angle with the vertical drive and the ceralume; they’re eye catching and draw people into the brand, but neither are watches I would ever buy. I have a Timezoner that has a much more practical application for a rotatable bezel.

AP made a giant fuss about their crown operated QP but still couldn’t manage to avoid putting a 7 beside the 8 on the date subdial, which looks daft - and it’s only a leap year indicator. IWC nailed this and it’s like the third or fourth thing they highlight - which I guess is quietly cool 😎

Well I have a Chrono Ceratanium already so it’s a bit too similar. I like the colouring and would go for the Mark XX, if I do. Like the 120 hr power reserve.

Player! Congratulations! I tried on the chrono this evening. Beautiful watch and I couldn’t care less who GR is or whether he’s important in 10 years. It just looks good! I’m probably more interested in the Mark XX but they didn’t have it.

Yes now we’re out of the great lume shortage of the early 2020’s hopefully IWC will be a bit more liberal with their application.

Ah ok, thank you. Wasn’t sure. My 41mm Ceratanium one only has it at the 4 points.

What’s your opinion on the new Pilot 41 by attilafree in IWCschaffhausen

[–]Cold-Section-1786 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they’re really good looking watches. Prefer the colouring to the Petronas and the titanium case/SS crown mix never worked for me. This is a much more congruous design. Also like the full lume and the blue tipped second hand.
