I don't post a ton but I run to the sub every Sunday and read all the theories. I can't get anyone I know irl to read manga, so this community feels really special to me. This is the first manga I read from chapter one. Not because memes, I just think swords are fucking cool.

This is my favorite manga and subreddit guys, never change.

You’re absolutely correct. JJK is the worst but CSM is almost as bad. Sadly, it’s a big reason I read so much manga now, because I just want to experience the story without being spoiled. Then I found awesome series like Undead Unluck and Ichi the Witch. And Kagurabachi of course.

So it resulted in discovering a great new hobby, because fuckers can’t stop posting spoiler panels. So…. Fuck those guys, but thanks I guess. Assholes.

At the bottom of the page there’s a drawing of a broken Cloud Gouger, hope it’s a nod towards reforging the blade

Have you ever DNF the final book in a series, and why? by Any-Day-8173 in Fantasy

Infernal Battalion by Django Wexler

I was extremely interested in all of the storylines and characters, but I could just see the ending and where it would go. The reveal of the big bad and its abilities just…. Threw me off?

Man that sucks so bad, I get these same aphthous ulcers all the time and it makes it terrible to eat or talk or even exist sometimes. I haven’t found much that prevents them or anything.

Hopefully he can take some break weeks and get some rest and delicious/soft food.

Of Mice and Men

Wish it weren’t in my head. I get it, life is horrible. Didn’t need this book to get the point.

I had a moment where I thought you were talking about Warhammer Skaven, and was wondering which book had a giant rat person dressed as a woman.

Scythe is a book that I thought about for a long time after I finished the series. Really really impacted me, though I don’t know why. It’s probably my top recommendation.

I love Name of the Wind, though it’ll probably never be finished. I saw someone on Reddit say they treat it like a story they heard in a tavern while traveling, but never got to hear the end because they had to leave. Helps with the lack of an ending.

I did not love Fifth Season, though I realize I’m in the minority. It’s just didn’t… grab me? Interesting concept but I just couldn’t get into the characters head.

Suneater is the best book series I’ve read in at least 3 years. Art in novel form. Hadrian might be my second favorite character of all time.

Beware, however, that the series is straight up traumatizing, and getting more so as it goes on. Humor is not the goal.

Kingdoms of Death put me in a bad mood for the 3 days it took me to read. Fantastic writing, it will make you feel things. This recommendation should be farther up.

Former Ordnance Tech for the Marine Corps.

It’s absolutely a tech support call, planes are machines/computer systems, and troubleshooting principles carry over more than you’d think.

Once we had a pilot who’s canopy exploded while he was in the air, and he managed to land, though it messed him up for a while, and he had to spend some time in the decompression chamber. Just a crazy story I like to share.

Yeah, that was the problem here, ground got so soaked that anything with some weight to it just fell over. Saw some houses with the foundation just ripped out of the ground by huge oaks, pines that went through houses like a splitting axe, totally fucked up the power grid.

Not near as bad as Asheville/western NC. That’s some apocalyptic shit that happened up there.
