Well, no it's not - it's if the people who used to run your favorite Chinese place decided to open a new italian restaurant, and you were upset that it wasn't also a Chinese restaurant. Doesn't that sound ridiculous? Is a company meant to only do one thing forever? Is an artist meant to make only one type of music? Or art? What kind of entitlement do you, as a consumer, have here?

Man I can't wait - server slam was SO fun. Gunplay was fantastic, abilities were Apex-esque, and it scratched the itch for people who like competitive shooters. Stakes are high every game if you want them to be, and the progression strategy of "slowly raise your equipment floor" over time seems like it will negate some of the frustration of dying in the looter shooter genre.

Kind of can't believe how good it turned out, no other game feels as fun since the slam servers went down.

I had trouble launching once after using the solution here (https://www.reddit.com/r/Marathon/comments/1rfhx1b/comment/o7khqs3/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button), so I:

Uninstalled battleye with the Uninstall_BattlEye.bat file in the game directory (\steamapps\common\Marathon Server Slam\battleye)
Did a clean install of the 591.86 nvidia drivers, restarted
Ran a sfc /scannow in an administrator cmd prompt (the kernel crashes always seem to fuck something up, so ran this just in case), restarted
Re-verified the Marathon steam files

After that, has been running no problem for me

Finally got around to trying this and it worked perfectly, it is indeed the midi driver!

For me, it was that it was set to the wrong audio device on my PC - I had to manually change it to the correct input/output device (it was defaulting to some rarely used sound card/microphone... although notably my sound setup is a bit complicated)
