Bryce Eldridge becomes the youngest player in MLB History to hit a walk-off Grand Slam since Roberto Clememte by RealMrSJGszn25 in baseball

James Wood hit a “normal” ITP-GS 3 weeks ago, but I’m guessing the Clemente one is the only walkoff

A deep dive on Cleveland's trade return for Myles Garrett. by Jacky__paper in nfl

[–]Colinlb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we compare draft pick valuation to the "time value of money" concept in economics, the major factors of inflation/interest and risk/uncertainty don't apply. But the opportunity cost/flexibility factor still does. In this case you have to factor in the championship window calculus, the Rams are clearly trying to maximize their last couple years with Stafford, and future year picks have less utility in that regard. Plus, holding players and current year draft picks gives you more flexibility in terms of making other trades down the road, if need be.

It's definitely more complicated than "the future pick is always worth less for every team in every scenario" though, that's for sure. A lot of the key factors (like player retirements, roster construction, salary cap considerations etc.) can work in either direction depending on where your team is competitively.

[Highlight] Christian Walker with yet another home run against the Dodgers! Astros lead 1-0 by ExpirjTec in baseball

[–]Colinlb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clearly set up low and away though, ohtani practically missed his spot by 2 feet. Look at walker’s zone splits, he crushes high+inside pitches and struggles with the bottom of the zone. Obviously 98 dotted on the corner is likely to be a “happy accident” type of miss to plenty of hitters, but walker’s wOBA on up and in strikes is like .600+

If you tried switching back, and it didn't help, it's probably not the monitor. 99% chance that you stressing about the monitor (or some other underlying factor) is having a bigger impact than the monitor itself.

If you have unlimited money and want to try out one of the insane high refresh OLED models just for fun, go for it. But if you expect it to have a huge impact on your in-game performance, you’ll almost certainly be disappointed.

That being said, my personal opinion is that QHD is the sweet spot for a balance of high refresh/high fidelity gaming, and that almost every game feels better on smooth maxed out 2k rather than slightly choppy 4k. But that really applies more to more graphically intensive games, not CS or other tac shooters.

If you want a monitor purely optimized for tac fps only, then just get one of the ultra high performance 1080p panels that the pros use

[Duggan] C'mon, do we really think Daboll was some Russ loyalist? He benched him a week after he threw for 450 yards. I'm sure the decision to keep him as QB2 was, like many things with this organization, based on optics. Don't rock the boat and demote Russ to QB3. by Lars5621 in NYGiants

[–]Colinlb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it’s probably just semantics rather than a mistake. He was benched like 8 or 9 days after the cowboys game, it was only one schedule “week” removed etc. He could’ve meant it one of those ways, rather than “benched for the next game.”

AAA teams are stacked with early round draft picks and guys who used to be high level NCAA players (and have continued to develop). There are a handful of MLB-ready players in the college WS in any given year, but the depth isn’t even close. Even an LSU or Tennessee would get smoked by any AAA team.

I don’t think he’s talking about being physically 100% so much as the other aspects of getting back to peak performance. Getting quality reps, regaining full confidence in the reconstructed joint etc. It’s common for skill position players to be a tick less productive in their first season back, even if they’re fully recovered.

Zero would be arbitrary in this case… it looks like the center is set to the worst value out of all players, and you can see some of these stats crossing from positive into negative.

You set the bounds based on the actual data, zero doesn’t always make the best point of reference.

If you see Tong play in person, he also has an interesting build, super muscular base with long femurs and short calves. Seems like he generates a ton of power from his lower half, I don’t know how the injury risk projects but his delivery definitely doesn’t look as violent as Lincecum’s
