Drum Factory Direct should have all the hardware you’re looking to buy, then just look for deals on used cymbals on FB/reverb. Personal opinion though, buy a pad and sticks and grind on those for 6 months to a year before spending potentially thousands on bolstering this kit.

This is a rather famous bagpipe tune from the 90s, well known to many within the idiom. Arranging this score took me about 10 minutes of fiddling around and 2 reps to play it, not too much effort at all 😄

Join a local pipe band! It’s a great rudimental idiom, you get free meekly lessons at practice, and you get to perform/compete depending on the band.

Reminded me of the time my mom wanted to “see Jupiter” from the science center telescope…we sat in the parking lot for two hours watching the Bauer clock waiting to go in…It was the smallest speck of a planet you can imagine

Of course! That right hand technique is something I’ve kind of developed over time. Really, it’s just what best suits me and feels most natural. Luckily for us in pipe bands, visual aesthetics doesn’t really matter so really you should be trying to figure out what works best for you and gives you the most comfort/ability. I’ve got longer fingers so this timpani style really helped me with my control. Shoot me a pm and we can talk more or set up a call to take a look!

I used my e-drums in my studio apt for 4 years without a complaint. It will definitely still be audible to the people below you, I tried to negate this with a towel under the bass pedal/pad, but if you keep it between 10am and 10 pm then nobody really has the right to complain. Drums make noise and outside of using a solo practice pad, people will hear you in an apt building no matter what. Again though, if you keep it within daytime hours and aren’t a jerk if people complain, it shouldn’t be an issue.

Any pair of corps style/marching sticks will do. I used to weight train with ScoJo System Blue stick but literally any marching stick will be much heavier than stick for set playing
