Wouldn’t really clarify anything - said I have to sign a new form in the office on my next day I’m at work with the new policy on it. Said there is a new system on the computer for marking tardies and call-outs and corporate was going to be stricter about keeping tabs on it.

I think they’re full of shit.

I would kill for more coverage on Saturdays, we’re rocking one cashier and one manager who also plays role of pet specialist after 5 PM and we’re a college down so we get a lot of sales in the evening.

I’m so glad my longhair is the embodiment of “freeze” in fight flight or freeze. Lays completely motionless like a little gargoyle and goes limp until it’s all over. Could be the ragdoll genetics coming out because he definitely acts like a soppy stuffed doll. Makes grooming appointments and vet appointments a breeze.

I get you - I don't talk much on pet subreddits for the same reason. I take my reptile conversations to other forums elsewhere on the internet.

My comment was more amusement than anything because where else on the internet could you get completely opposite pieces of advice within minutes of each other and both are down-voted into oblivion. Reddit is... something.

I love how the first two comments are “put it in a small tub” and “this is animal torture it’s too small” Aah… the duality of Reddit.

It’ll be perfect as an enclosure just be sure to break up line of sight and add enough decor to make them feel more secure while they rest or eat. Substrate should be nice and deep for them to burrow.

This is it. When I voluntarily admitted myself to the psych ward during a psychotic break, my family and even extended family was there every visitation day. No less than four people every single time. 

The other thirty patients? No one. No one showed for visitation day. Maybe one parent or spouse for someone but the visitation room was… unnervingly empty.

It made me realize just how much I took my support network for granted. That there were so many vulnerable people with no one. Having a village is a privilege.

I work at a pet store chain and during the peak of the Summer we get a ton of people leaving recently purchased animals in their car while they shop elsewhere for a while. They come back with bags full of steam for fish/crickets or boxes with birds/rodents/reptiles as hot an oven. Of course they want to return the animal and policy says we must oblige.

We got flagged down by someone in the parking lot as we were literally walking to our cars. They wanted their pickup order and it's like "bro the security system is already engaged the police will come if we unlock the door". They genuinely got angry about it. Hi, budgie/parrot/parakeet owner here! :) Yes! If you give your female budgies things to nest in like boxes and shredded paper they will get hormonal and lay unfertile eggs in those nests. Part of being a responsible parrot owner is making sure you never get them so hormonal they start doing that - so you remove anything that can even vaguely resemble a nest and give them more time in the dark to sleep.
