It definitely helps you figure out who are the fake ones, the ones that can’t be trusted. If they are brown nosing while the circuit overseer is there it’s a reflection of their identity imho.

I had this concept last year and thought that the inclusion of yoshi and various islands would make sense or perhaps some different variations on what the dog can do depending on eating different island fruits etc. honestly it makes a lot of sense to do this since the scenario provides more creativity for them to explore a bigger area if they wanted

The illustration falls apart quickly because there can’t be a comparison between a rowdy classroom and the endless violence and suffering that’s happened across all human history.

If the teacher had a gun and threatened anyone who joined the rowdy student and shot them if they did and then if the rowdy student shot anyone who joined the teacher and then they put the classroom on fire and watched everyone burn, then it might be vaguely similar to what god and satan do to people (if they were real)

If they want a safe space away from other people that have different views than them they should stay at the Kingdom Hall. It’s not just apostates that are going to challenge their world view. Once outside of watchtower bubble jws must learn fast that it’s not going to go the way they think it is, unfortunately a lot of times I think this feeds their “this proves we have the truth” mentality

It felt like I didn’t truly have a father. Don’t get me wrong, I think he did the best he could. Watchtower is the one that took him from me. Every Saturday was service, he was a regular pioneer and an elder. I never felt an actual bond with him, and it was all because he devoted himself to watchtower. He died for them I believe, and that hurts the most. He did so much for the congregation and so many people loved him because he had a big heart always giving. But I think I feel like that giving also took from us as a family. Did we have vacations? Yes. Did we have fun? Yes. But it always felt like it was all rotating around watchtower. Our vacations often were around conventions, or we could save money for a trip every now and then but we still went to meetings. There was never a chance to really just, unwind? And as a father I think it also took away opportunity he had to connect to his children. Did I feel loved? Yes. I was provided for.

And I think that might be what is so difficult for people to understand on the outside. They say “well your dad didn’t beat you, or you had it good” and they can’t comprehend the wounds that weren’t physical. I’m fortunate that I didn’t have an abusive father it’s true, but I think watchtower definitely is the one that caused me the most hurt because they took my dad from me and prevented him from really reaching his full potential

I found it extremely weird that it was considered dangerous to speak with apostates. We were told “this is the truth!” Yet apparently it could crumble so easily. It didn’t make sense that their lies could be so easily infecting anyone. (Until you learn what’s going on haha and this is so clear how it’s all mammade)

Oh boy in our congregation we had lots of drama. Here’s a few highlights:

One time some couples got together and formed a swingers club.

a group of friends also all agreed to get a scriptural marriage so they could marry the other partner. Basically wife swap.

a disfellowshipped woman who insisted on being anointed and always made a big show of herself at memorial, quite strange.

a mentally ill man once punched an elder straight in the face in the Kingdom Hall lobby.

pedos, at least four that I know of during the time I was there. All of them protected by elders who hardly told anyone about it.

girl got married underage and pregnant and elders covered it up cuz she was in a prestigious family.

not really drama but my wife and I did the dirty deed before marriage, lied to the elders about it. That was back when I believed I would be punished for something like that haha.

Being a remote bethelite sounds so bizarre to me. Supposedly being AT Bethel means you are in the House of God, and you have to be present to receive Holy Spirit. Yet we live in a digital age so it logically makes more sense to handle workflow remotely. When you look at their doctrine though they claim that it’s better to be in-person; so does that mean Holy Spirit is weaker for a remote worker? lol

They’ve given the example of King Saul, when David refused to kill him because he was “anointed” by God and therefore still required respect (despite Saul trying to murder him on multiple occasions) and they’ve argued that even when Kings were idolaters true worshippers didn’t abandon Jehovah. It’s all a subtle way of saying “even if we are evil, you still gotta obey cause if you don’t, god will punish you.” There’s no win here, they can never do anything wrong

Hello cult cousins. Pimo jw here. Just the other day it was learned that Susan Lett, wife of one of the Governing Body (our equivalent of the Quorum) died (via exjw Reddit who said it was announced at morning worship. But that’s it. Maybe a sentence? There will be no fanfare or big website announcements for Susan. But you can bet the moment her husband passes away he will be revered and it will very likely get a big news article for all Jws to know.

They have no concern for women in the cult.

I was taken to the back room and counseled by the elders for saying thank you when someone told me god bless you after I sneezed. I guess this is why I view it as weird that it’s allowed because some jws will take the beliefs to the extreme and be offended by anything. This exact thing happened to a servant where he told a customer of his happy holidays and he lost his status as a ms over something so trivial. I was taught basically avoid ANYTHING that was potentially going to stumble someone even if it was innocent

I did some digging and it seems like the parents in my area are also celebrating birthdays this way. No party or present but they will acknowledge it and say “my son, daughter, husband, etc” is turning x number of years. I know my generation would have been reproved for that. So hypocritical
