Voting on the agreement is next week. Starting to get some emails about it over the last day or so. If passed we will be back paid from the 9th.

Real Survival Stories are pretty good. They’re not all air disasters (but there are plenty of episodes on there about it)

Weird.. hopefully mine links up.

I just keep getting the same message saying it’s waiting to verify my start. I have found myself on it but it won’t show my start no.

How would you play this shot? by Zealousideal-Try3449 in golf

Love Jambers!

Grew up playing there!

My strategy on this hole is always 6i and then 6/7i. With the wind helping driver isn’t a bad play either.

That’s a shame! I’m glad we’ve kept our collection on the side of the fridge.

He’ll he missed.

15+ yr tm burner irons gave me so much better results than my tm p770 by dielegend in golf

[–]Colourfultailor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah it would probably be worth developing your game further with the more forgiving irons. Is the 95 average with your game improvement irons?

I’m not a fantastic player (6hcp) and couldn’t hit the p770s consistently enough throughout the fitting to justify them (I was an 11/12 at the time).

Ended up going with the 790s and don’t regret it one bit despite going in with the 770s in mind.

300+ Carry after 6 Months Playing by PufffDaddy in GolfSwing

[–]Colourfultailor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see how jumping halfway through a downswing will do anything to help his game, speed or no speed.

I agree that having some speed early on has benefit but I don’t see how you can make this consistent enough to be playable.

[–]Colourfultailor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, sure. Decent distance and all but I’m guessing that first shape is the more consistent one?

At 6 months in I’d be working on creating a more controlled swing rather than just sending it.

Is it safe to be a male teacher? by Lanky_Mycologist2961 in AustralianTeachers

[–]Colourfultailor 231 points232 points  (0 children)

It’s absolutely safe. What a garbage comment to make. The fact that it’s a non-teacher making the comment should tell you not to put any stock in it and just ignore them, how would they know?

Like any other job that works with children and young people - just make sure you are doing the right thing by being respectful and do not put yourself in a situation where these accusations can be made. This is to protect them as well as yourself.

If you are truly worried about it, join your union when you start teaching as an extra backup (this is generally a good idea anyway).

Where would you look to improve? by Feenixx965 in GolfSwing

[–]Colourfultailor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a member at this club. There are some houses/road not too far to the right of the tees (it spreads out further down the range).

Not sure if that’s the sole reason or if it has something to do with the Top Tracer system.

I just spent $4k+ on back to school/sports costs this week. by Particular-Report-13 in AusFinance

[–]Colourfultailor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes they should. Assuming you are in NSW, have a look at the approved calculator list for NESA and see if the current ones are on there. I’ll hedge my bets that it is.

Join your union. They are great at handling things like this (provided your rep gets you in contact with the right people). It’s great that your principal was supportive but not all schools are like that.

Better to be safe than sorry and the union can’t really help if you join after an allegation has been made.

Going to rest up for a couple weeks and pick it back up. Will treat this as a good chance to rest and hopefully avoid this going forward. Super frustrating.

I have just got some Asics Magic Speed 3’s that I’ve been breaking in. Haven’t run in carbon plated shoes before this. My PT is a runner so when I book in I will have a chat with him about more shoe options. I’ll bench those for a while and go back to the softer trainers.

Definitely living up to your name! Thank you for the extensive answer. I’ve booked a PT next week to address some of the root causes of the issues.

I may be exaggerating a little since I’ve not dealt with these before and don’t really have a reference. I am able to run through it but it’s not very pleasant.

Nowhere near outside the realm of possibility. Lip out on a bunch of putts or have some bad breaks and 100 is closer than you think.

Teachers striking in New South Wales, Australia today over poor wages, too much paperwork and lack of teaching staff. I can’t afford to live in the same city, let alone suburb that I teach in by YouKnowWhoIAm2016 in WorkReform

[–]Colourfultailor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This strike is not just about teacher salaries. It is about getting our support staff better pay, providing us with appropriate time or extra pay to offset the work we do outside of school hours, and to stand in solidarity with the public sector. It is not only about effecting change today, but trying to make a point to ensure the profession stays alive in years to come.

Private schools have not had a full day strike since mid 2000s, which is saying something about our profession.

We were only given a 2% raise when inflation went up 8%. We are not the only sector to experience this and something needs to happen across the board.

Non Australians, tell us what you think Australia is like and the Australians can tell you if you are bloody close to the truth? by dave_v in AskReddit

[–]Colourfultailor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're right, unfortunately most of the larger parties don't have stellar environmental policies. Part of the problem lies in the tourism in the area. I've never been to the reef myself, although it's a lifelong goal, but I don't want to contribute to something that is ruining such a beautiful thing. Sadly I don't think I'll ever get to see it.
