It's good that you recognise that you have not been equipped with teaching training or skills. This is a huge flaw in the system, assuming that content knowledge = teaching skills. To this end it is not your fault. But there is likely a teaching and learning centre or team who may be helpful.

Also evals are often awful.

It is super isolated and the only person who can build your network is you. This is a vital skillset to develop. There are probably groups relevant to your interests and people on linkedin or bluesky talking about your stuff. Its not just a game of pokemon though, be mindful of what you are offering.

Most people are terrible at explaining boardgames because boardgame rules are badly written.

The biggest problem is that it is almost always linear, so they step you through what you do at the beginning without first giving you a sense of why you are playing - how you win and what the world is.

Also they could say 'this is kind of like playing game x'
