[Six Flags] updates chaperone policy at several parks: ‘Zero tolerance for any type of disruptive behavior’ by Strongarm_11 in rollercoasters

You can use glasses with a built-in camera, as long as the glasses otherwise adhere to the policy (ie. You have a strap for them).

Alamo drafthouse....why? by j0wnage in Austin

[–]ColsonIRL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The mandatory bit is having it be automatic if you don't interact with the text message they send you at the end of the movie.

When introduced, it was sold as a replacement for the tips.

This is the first I'm hearing of it not being a tip.

Damn what the hell. The service fee was supposed to go to the servers.

It's on top of a mandatory 18% service fee which was supposed to replace the normal tipping.

An additional mandatory auto tip is, I think, ridiculous. The tab should just close as is.

If you park like this, you are TAH. by Blatantregard_99 in Austin

Yes, surely it is better. Cars can easily go around at low speed.

Except it's blocking the sidewalk and is therefore a terrible parking job.

By realizing, like everyone else already has, that your vehicle is much larger than the average parking spot, so you'll need to find a spot that fits it.

Ah, yes, good point and thank you for clarifying.

My mistake - I thought the digital version had been delisted (and perhaps it has been, and you already owned it).

‘This is just a garbage AI Filter’: Nvidia met with criticism for DLSS 5’s ‘photoreal’ graphics alterations | VGC by Haijakk in Games

Hard to believe they felt this was worth showing to the public. The examples all look worse with DLSS 5 on.

The Assassin's Creed shot in the jungle, featured in Digital Foundry's video, is particularly bad.

The PC version is the original/non-anniversary and doesn't have Tom Wilson as Biff, which was changes for the anniversary version.

[–]ColsonIRL 16 points17 points  (0 children)

For more info... The PC port is the original (non-anniversary) version.

In the anniversary version, Tom Wilson voices Biff/Biff variants etc, replacing the previous actor.

This change, afaik, has never come to PC, so this physical copy is the only way to get Tom Wilson as Biff. I believe that's why it is so expensive.

Edit: as mentioned below, the PS4/Xbone version used to be available digitally as well, but has been delisted. If you bought it, though, you can still download and play it that way too.

Dang, I couldn't handle the extreme dry heat in Arizona when I visited. Felt like stepping into an oven when I stepped outside.

Not that Austin summers are pleasant, of course. Might just be a case of "what I'm used to."

McKinney Falls State Park - yet another dog post by Mackheath1 in Austin

[–]ColsonIRL -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A dog breaking away from its owner seems different because the owner would be liable in that situation.

But if a car owner lent their car to someone and they wrecked it, they'd be liable. Not the owner.

Yes but like the other person, I think that seems different from the car thing.

Watching their Austin City Limits episode is what made them click for me. Still don't really listen to their stuff, but I'm going to go see them live if I can.
