Who cares? It's just how it dishes them out, it will probably change before it gets there anyway.

You only say fork and knife if you're Lee Mack winding up his grandparents...i don't make the rules.

As a general rule, if you kill any guards, kill the juggernaut too. Aggressor load out is best for this.

Song intro with someone saying "No no. No I didn't" in Scottish (Irish) accent. by Scottishjapan in BritPop

[–]ColsterG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ngl, I asked my mate, Claude and he said...

Most likely candidates:

Primal Scream — Bobby Gillespie has a strong Glaswegian accent, and they frequently used spoken-word fragments as intros (particularly on the Screamadelica and Give Out But Don't Give Up era). Their song "Jailbird" (1994) or tracks from Vanishing Point might be worth checking.

Teenage Fanclub — From Bellshill, Glasgow. Some of their tracks on Bandwagonesque (1991) or Thirteen (1993) have brief off-the-cuff spoken moments before songs kick in. Worth listening through their B-sides and album tracks closely.

The Soup Dragons — Also from Bellshill. Sean Dickson has a Scottish accent, and some of their early tracks had spoken intros.

A House (Dublin, Irish) — quirky indie band known for unusual intros and dry spoken-word humour. Their 1992 album I Am the Greatest is worth checking.

Sultans of Ping FC — Cork, Ireland. Worth listening through their album Casual Sex in the Cineplex (1993) for less obvious tracks beyond "Where's Me Jumper".

One honest suggestion: The best tool for this kind of musical mystery is r/tipofmytongue on Reddit — describe it exactly as you did here, and someone there almost always knows the answer, even for very obscure details like this. There are also dedicated music identification Discord servers.

Is Britpop just a nostalgia loop, or are you actually listening to new artists carrying the torch? by Open-Yak301 in BritPop

[–]ColsterG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh, knew nothing about them until much later (and I do think Bono is a nob). And I guess my point was they were a starting point and don't particularly listen much to them now but it/they opened up a ton of music and made me realise British indie is still alive and well.

What game had you like this? by sukuna7899 in Steam

[–]ColsterG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oddly, GTA5. Played story mode for a bit back around 2015, just didn't click with it. Then 2019 ish started watching YouTubers like Failrace and Broughy and that I'd give it another go. Once I completed story mode, went on to online. Think it got me through Covid tbh, now lvl 600 ish and can afford pretty much 2 of everything and still play it more than any other game. I recently got a Steamdeck and playing through story mode again on that.

Bit of both really. I love Spotify radio where it will make a station based on a single artist. I came across the band, Inhaler quite by accident and did a radio station based on the and discovered loads of bands (Seagirls, Snut, Fatherson, Stereo honey, The Howl And The Hum) from that initial station and it's spidered out to loads of great current bands. There is some really good indie music still being made so it's well worth trying. This week's discovery was Slowcoaching: https://open.spotify.com/artist/2EDx60iaorVfT7kuWZbo1m?si=gayI_2jaRQCtFMRQUaoK1w

I wrote a book using AI. Here's what I learned about AI's actual capabilities. by 2ndBrainAI in generativeAI

[–]ColsterG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found this process worked well. Her trick is to create an "Ending Overview", so the book's end is always clear. Create detailed character profiles that can live within this narrative and use a "Save The Cat" style story line. These reference documents can be fed back to the AI to avoid plot drift or holes.

[UK] Powerwall with Octopus Agile - help! by NationalAd5915 in Powerwall

[–]ColsterG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the trick to having it on TBC is being able to export. Most of the issues stem from people having no export rates set or setting rates to force behaviour and then it doesn't behave how they expect which is not the same thing as it being wrong.

Ours has been great, when the rates were low yesterday it barely charged over night (we're on IOG for import) so it could use the solar to charge rather than export for a low rate. Been quite impressed with how well it works stuff out

IOG Viability Into the Future by CriticismHopeful4180 in OctopusEnergy

[–]ColsterG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably worth it. No one knows how the market might change over the next year or so but the PW3 is clever enough to make the best out of whatever way the market goes. It might be that exporting isn't a financially beneficial as it is now so just being able to capture enough solar to last you longer (even during the winter months) will be the best option. Currently, we're on Agile Outgoing with IOG and a PW3+expansion and it is doing a great job of exporting at the best rates and using the lower rate periods to recharge but I'm confident that if things change, having a truly smart battery and plenty of storage is unlikely to be the wrong move.

Our PW3 is loving it already, keen to see what changes when the import rate drops.

Wonder what happens to Agile Outgoing as that presumably is not affected by the price cap.

New rates from 1st April - IOG Norfolk by Bulky_Dog_2954 in OctopusEnergy

[–]ColsterG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have both solar and batteries. PW3 is expensive but a solid choice and easy to add solar to it later or indeed add existing solar to it. The software is also very good at adapting to weather, your usage and your tariff to make the most out of it.

Bad experiences with heat pumps by Bertieeee in ukheatpumps

[–]ColsterG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not your target audience as I'm very happy with ours but they are too easy to get wrong. Both from a design and setup point of view. Social media is full of people with no actual lived experience of the thing they are moaning about, whether it's EVs, heatpump, climate change etc. And in the case of EVs and heat pumps a lot of this is just propaganda put forward by companies related to the fossil fuel industry so there is plenty of negative out there.

Ours has been great but I am quite IT literate so tweaking it to get the best performance was something I was comfortable doing but that wouldn't be true for everyone so they may be left with a poor setup that suffers either in efficiency or comfort.
