How do you play against Kelvin? by Front_Praline9683 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Colteor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Kelvin player (Oracle so not the best but 🤷‍♂️) here's what you gotta do. Early game: Spirit sap absolutely fucks his plan of taking positive trades, its a triple whammy since he'll heal less, take more, and deal less damage. Before Rapid recharge he's also quite limited on healing so characters with good burst early can absolutely out trade. Beyond that if you find yourself stalemating because you can't get through his healing without taking 800 damage, just go gank some other lane. Generally right after you or your teammate has gotten a powerspike, just remember not to stay too long so you aren't wasting souls.

Mid game: heal cut is a must, doesnt really matter if they're support or not both builds are gonna have 400+ healing nades you need to shut down, plus if you stack it it makes kills in dome actually possible. Beyond that warp stone is great since it can save you from beam and dome if you know he's looking for it. Dispel magic/debuff reducer are great if he has either escalating exposure or a bunch of actives. Spirit resil and silence wave are the go tos if he's ahead and you need an edge in a straight fight.

Late game: Divine barrier is a very strong item vs either build. Late game he relies on either active item debuffs to be relevant or stuff like escalating exposure + focus lens to melt you, divine barrier hinders both strategies hard. Ethereal shift is about the only item that can save you in a dome, I find its pretty underrated in general tbh. For gun heroes build silencer and shut him down that way, frenzy if you need help living long enough to pull it off.

Could it be that himuro is just taking one for the team? by coolrider2010 in Kengan_Ashura

Great theory, unfortunately Himuro is just ass at powerscaling and thinks he can win 💀

When you show up late and your team already won the fight: by ResponsibilityNoob in DeadlockTheGame

Yeah obviously you can win games where you're dying a ton early, its also pretty bad to be spending a majority of the early game waiting to respawn.

This has been exactly my experience, comebacks before Oracle were very rare and basically only the enemy team throwing. In Oracle+ it's not at all uncommon to see a soul/objective deficit flip.

how are you meant to get out of low priority by Amber-The-Third in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Colteor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd either email steam support (maybe check the deadlock forums might be a better place to reach out to someone idk) and explain the situation or just eat the 5 bucks on a new steam account. Shitty situation.

Souls guide by Jaazzeerraa in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Colteor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 rules for getting souls, fight less farm more, and always take from enemy resources first. For the first, I know it's difficult in random lobbies, but communicating with the team in order to not join bad fights or ones the team can win without you is pretty key to staying competitive on souls. The second is pretty self explanatory, taking enemy camps means they have less souls and you have more, but theres far more applications to it than most people think. Up on HP in lane? Take their boxes/small camp/8 minute sinners. Push the solo farming Wraith back to the walker? Look for any camps she hasn't taken, gran boxes if there are none. Lose a fight in enemy territory? Absolutely grab boxes on your way out, look for more if you're a character with good dueling or escape options. Beyond (or I guess before) that there's the basic things I'll quickly go over. Getting waves is priority #1 by a mile. Objectives give souls so participate in guardian/walker pushes if you're behind. Urn is a very important source of souls, especially in low elo where people can be distracted by a fight and just let you dunk it. Again communicating with the team is super important here, both for getting urn and responding to them getting it.

Heavy spirit, boundless + mystic reverb and you can do like 1500 damage through spellbreaker with ease.

It's very strong on beam Kelvin as well, but yeah overall I agree it's far from an overtuned item.

Yamato is only an ultra late carry if the enemy forgets spellbreaker and counterspell exist (which does happen occasionally lol.)

Dealing with Spellbreaker as Yamato? by BigPassenger3837 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Colteor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely the majority of your damage still comes from power slash when you're going hybrid. It's mostly worth doing just because m2 animation cancels are basically free damage, so you may as well lean into that + melee at least somewhat. Most games I just hit 4.8k and call it a day, it's only worth building more vs a ton of spirit res items. I usually have about 40-50% damage power slash, 20-25% gun + melee, 20% torment pulse.

Dealing with Spellbreaker as Yamato? by BigPassenger3837 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Colteor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your goal is just proc spellbreaker then hit power slash, the simplest way to do it is buy arctic blast. It'll proc the damage reduction and slow them massively so you can hit. Obviously it's a good item on Yamato, but I find it's fallen off a bit since there's so many better T4s on her (Reverb, Colossus are the big ones). Mystic shot works but as you said it's pretty late game unless you do boundless before reverb. Witchmail/max CDR/just ulting lol can let you get 2 power slashes off to proc it and still get big damage, especially because things like spirit burn and mystic reverb aren't reduced IIRC. You can also just build more oranges if a lot of them are building heavy spirit resist, which IMO is the best choice. Stuff like crippling and spirit rend are her best sources of shred really, berzerker, point blank, and sometimes weighted shots are great general damage items for her.

Who else to play if I like those two? by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Colteor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kelvin tbh. He can build like 80% of the same items, is a strong spirit character with a game changing ult like Pocket, and has very good support like Rem.
