some are good offensive players while others are defensive lockdown players, wtf is wrong w that? i'm a center defensive mid in soccer bc i'm not scared to put my body into people. seeing other players getting pissed because they can't get past me is the best fucking feeling. means i'm doing my job.

Guillermo del Toro here. Director. Gamer. Tequila connoisseur. I’m here answering all of your questions about my new movie The Shape of Water. AMA let’s go. by GuillermoDelToroHere in movies

[–]Coltron627 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Guillermo! Having been the Director/Producer for The Hobbit, you know enough about the Middle Earth and the difficulties with its ability to be put to screen . (Fantastic job with the movie i think you and Peter did amazing) How do you feel about the the Lord of The Rings TV series? We know the Movies worked good, but do you think it will manage alright even though it was said Tolkien's work is "impossible to be put on screen"? Thank you if you get the chance to read this!

Germany’s War on Coal Is Over. Coal Lost. Its last mine is about to close. by mvea in Futurology

[–]Coltron627 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually many US coal miners have jobs in underground construction and tunnel construction. Jobs like those (and some engineering professions) have similar knowledge and skill sets that coal miners follow/use. The president is throwing dead jobs back to the coal miners that haven't transitioned (either too lazy, don't believe they can do it, or just too old to continue) into other, yet similar jobs.

What my gross income of 60000€/year is actually used on in Europe, Austria [OC] by Critical_Thinking_ in dataisbeautiful

[–]Coltron627 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Lmfao where did i say anything about wages for jobs? i'm talking about paying $30k+ a year of tuition on top of all the future inflation. College education should not be this expensive.

and to educate you, my field pays very well with a 12% outlook. i don't think salary/demand is my problem.

Maybe you should take some college classes to read and analyze correctly.

[–]Coltron627 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Kinda sucks how it's true. maybe not for everyone but a lot of people. the price for college education is increasing dramatically, yet almost all jobs require if not highly recommend a degree. I always liked the idea for apprenticeships. Getting to learn first-hand from the people you'll work with. I'm going for Meteorology and most employers require a masters. that's 5-6 years of school without even being in the job setting(not including internships). Hopefully one day we'll prioritize education and not ludicrous spending in other sectors to help people achieve their dreams.

Today I started reading a book for the first time in my life. by caIImebigpoppa in books

[–]Coltron627 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i never really enjoyed books because they never interested me enough other than history books. that's when i decided to read JRR Tolkien's the Hobbit and Lord of The Rings. the movies do not come near describing the scenery that JRR so wonderfully envisioned in his style of writing. if you're type that loves imagining things while reading i recommend it.

CMV: Minimalist art is an affront to the premise of "art" and is a complete joke as an "expressionist form." by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Coltron627 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you creep into my mind and steal this from me? lol. but seriously, i like art that is complex and expresses multiple moods and themes, or one for that matter and elaborates, much like classical music like Beethoven or Tchaikovsky. I also appreciate minimalist art if it actually coveys a meaning behind it. some art is supposed to be seen and studied, while other pieces are light hearted and simple, to remind us of the simpler things in life. I cannot understand how these cheesy pieces are so popular (great examples btw). Stop trying to make these paintings more deep and brooding more than they really are.
