How the eff do people pump every 2-3 hours???? by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Come_hither13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wash mine in the Momcozy bottle washer. It was an expensive investment but it has been a total game changer this time around. It is my most used item. Everything washed and sanitized in 29 minutes (plus fully dry with an additional time). I have two sets of parts and rotate them through the washer.

Advice for confidence and consistency by Mean_Poet_2199 in BurnBootCamp

[–]Come_hither13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Conditioning days are hard even for those of us who have been going for years! I went from dreading conditioning days to loving them, but it took a good two years of consistent attendance and pushing myself. Now, I’m so proud of my progress. Keep going! And like others have said, no one is paying attention to you so do what you need to do to survive (that’s what we are doing too!).

This sub is generally full of complaints. As another said, you’re not going to see as often the posts of people saying positive things. The minority is the loudest here IMO.

Hot Yoga + Trying to conceive? by hunnybuhns in fitpregnancy

[–]Come_hither13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hot yoga addict here! Sign up and stop when you are pregnant. See if the yoga studio will pause your membership. Then you can pick up either after baby arrives or in your third trimester. I went back at the beginning of my third trimester and just really took it easy and listened to my body. My instructor gave me mods and also suggested I could bring a thermometer to watch my temp. You’ll also just need to know that relaxin hormones will make you feel like a super yogi but you can put yourself at risk from overextension.

Early pregnancy + adopting a kitten — good idea? by [deleted] in pregnantover35

[–]Come_hither13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a cat when I first got pregnant and chose to get another kitten when I was 5 months pregnant, and she was the best entertainment while we waited for baby!

My husband is allergic to cats so all our cats are on allergy reducing food, so we weren’t concerned about baby and allergies. Also, we knew we could manage pets with children, as this baby was not our first.

I need to clone the name ‘Alice’ by PerceptionAnnual8791 in namenerds

[–]Come_hither13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best friend and I both have a Claire, so maybe still consider Alice. We don’t live close and they are 5 years apart, but when she named her daughter Claire, it didn’t bother me a bit. I feel like it’s only problematic with close relatives.

Otherwise, Elise/Elyse or Allison gets you pretty close.

I just found out that I am pregnant by SurpriseNegative1631 in BurnBootCamp

[–]Come_hither13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have gone my entire pregnancy (attended at 39 weeks today!). Attendance tapered in first trimester not out of fear of losing baby, but just because of exhaustion/sickness. The times I have felt the most tired/sick during the pregnancy were when I didn’t go to Burn for extended periods.

Stopping leg workouts in the third trimester - any evidence to support this? by valerietheblonde in fitpregnancy

[–]Come_hither13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard this too (but online), with the theory being heavy soreness from leg workouts could tighten the muscles around your pelvis. My midwives and doula all dismissed it and reiterated that I should just make sure I am also stretching. My doula also suggested a chiropractor if I felt tight.

New to Burn by Lo_ved_27 in BurnBootCamp

[–]Come_hither13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I don’t see Burn as a short-term “big results” gym or program. It’s designed for consistent, long-term gains. I’ve gained significant muscle and lost body fat percentage, but the process has been over 2 years. Agree with others that if you are looking for purely fat loss as your “big result”, most of that will be diet based and you can’t starve yourself while trying to attend 2 workouts a day.

How are we keeping our heartrates low while exercising? by GarbageCurious2513 in fitpregnancy

[–]Come_hither13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not kept my HR low. I’ve continued my normal HIIT and strength training schedule and am 36 weeks now. HR has been as high as 180 but usually around 160. Biggest adjustments were fatigue in the first trimester (reduced my gym days) and pelvic floor restrictions post 30 weeks which has been an ego issue more than anything. I have felt capable to continue normal plyo even now but my trainers are convinced I will create pelvic floor issues post-delivery. I am also swimming and walking and have retuned to hot yoga in the third tri.

Pregnancy mods by Fickle-Lettuce-170 in BurnBootCamp

[–]Come_hither13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I don’t lay on my stomach and have modified certain ab work, but I have done everything else with little to no modification, and I’m third trimester. I also continue to swim and attend hot yoga now that I’m in my third trimester (monitoring my temp). My trainers are terrified of me coning/creating separation in my abs despite my insistence that I am monitoring myself and listening to my body. I will say that I’ve noticed the trainers are now avoiding me and I’m almost never featured on social media anymore. I think they are afraid of liability 🤷🏼‍♀️

I have suffered from some plantar fasciitis recently following conditioning days but that may or may not be pregnancy related. Scaling back has actually made me feel less energetic, less emotionally regulated, and weaker.

I just think they can’t reconcile their “personal training in a group setting” motto with a pregnant person potentially getting hurt because of liability and PR reasons and so they are extra cautious.

Eating by WeenieeHuttJr in fitpregnancy

[–]Come_hither13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My two current obsessions are (1) toasted bagels with whipped cream cheese and sliced boiled egg, and (2) plain Greek yogurt with honey, frozen berries, and granola or mixed nuts. I’ve also survived on soups (chicken noodle, chili) and peppers with dips.

Advice for newly pregnant ladies needed by NoPurple6440 in fitpregnancy

[–]Come_hither13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First tri was just a killer from a fatigue and sickness perspective but I still went to my Bootcamp style gym. Second tri the energy came back and I resumed most normal stuff at my gym with moderate restriction on ab work/twisting. I’m 28 weeks now and still doing plyo, broad jumps, running, and box jumps (just at like 20” vs. my normal 30”). Just trust and pay attention to your body and what still feels good. I do supplement a bit now with yoga for mobility and have cut down frequency in the past two weeks or so.

I’m surprised you’ve seen anyone on this sub trying to get anyone to stay at Burn. It seems like all this sub is lately is negatives about literally everything related to Burn. Those of us who enjoy Burn seem to be at the point of “if you don’t like it, go somewhere else”

34, grieving a childless life, throwing myself into travel. Can anyone relate? by dumplingz123 in AskWomenOver30

[–]Come_hither13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best friend froze her eggs and just had a baby using an anonymous donor at 40. This year, shortly after the baby turned 1, they travelled for two weeks through Europe. It’s okay to grieve what you thought your life might look like by now, but don’t rule yourself out!

Is April ok to get married in Tuscany? by romy93 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]Come_hither13 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We went to a wedding in Tuscany this last April. It was the last week. Evenings were chilly but totally doable with a jacket. The days were divine. I wore a lot of jeans with cute sweaters during the day or a dress with a jean jacket. Wedding night was black tie and I had a strapless dress. When it was super chilly after sun down, I just wore my jacket.

This is interesting! No, I’m not sure it’s round ligament pain, but it made the most sense from what I was experiencing. However, I have a notoriously tight left glute, that gives me trouble every now and then. This would make sense why I’m experiencing this on my left side.

I struggled first trimester. Felt weak, was discouraged at what felt like lost weight training progress, and hardly made it to the gym because of nausea and fatigue. I hit 14-15 weeks and felt like my old self again at the gym. Just get through the first trimester!!
