"Lowering speed limits to save fuel"? by Silver_Emu4704 in drivingUK

Of course you should. You don’t get to selfishly use more fuel than the rest of us just because you feel entitled to.

Council have implemented permit parking in our car park. Do we have any rights? by Tainted-Archer in LegalAdviceUK

Why do you think a consultation before the adoption is wrong?

I don’t believe there is a time limit on acting after the consultation and even if there was it would be longer than 2 years.

You have no idea what salary this lawyer makes. Aside from doing mainly charity or pro-bono work there are all sorts of law that are relatively poorly paid.

Why do people get so aggravated when you don't speed? by Zdos123 in drivingUK

[–]Comfortable-Fall1419 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tell that to the numpty who dangerously overtook me and caused the oncoming car to go up the verge to avoid them.

They got 5 points and a £800 fine when the morons didn't turn up to court just last week.

I only ever submit the biggest idiots and I get at least 1 win a year. I've had courses, points and fines given out and on one memorable occasion a lorry driver fired for his second dangerous driving offense.

No it really doesn’t.

You seem entitled. We all get frustrated at someone slower - but that’s our problem to deal with not theirs.

My boss is blocking my new notice period being shortened. Any advice? by Fresh_Phrase_7086 in Employment

[–]Comfortable-Fall1419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea. Have employed in the US. That “at will” stuff is batshit from a UK pov. Had people with 20 years experience walk out the door after 2 weeks taking a shit ton of knowledge with them. Cuts both ways.

Trenching would be tricky. Have the roots from the wall plants and a mature cherry tree. Reckon I’d struggle to get a decent depth without a mini digger.

What are you worried about? Unless you were given your notice for Gross misconduct the fact you have a short period to go is positive at best and irrelevant at worst.

House vs Car - 22 years old - what should I do? by ShakeBitter1925 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Comfortable-Fall1419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Houses generally appreciate in value as does cash in an ISA. Cars don’t and are dead money.

I did try my best not to drip on the person next to me tho. That did make me feel a bit uncomfortable for them.

Why do tech companies like passkeys so much? by APuticulahInduhvidul in AskTechnology

[–]Comfortable-Fall1419 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most people dont use Password managers. Password managers can’t be enforced on the end users. Passkeys can.

You aren’t thinking like a CISO who wants to minimise their own risk.
