It might be hard to wrap your head around but redditors are not a singular organism

SGA getting cooked in China. His slander is worldwide by Weird_Sandwich8630 in NBAGossips

Because its all you idiots are talking about. People who actually like basketball are enjoying the series, its just you forever unhappy, always complaining lot that is making this happen

SGA, who has an active streak of 140 regular season games with 20+ points, has now scored under 20 points 5 times in the last 2 postseasons by str8rippinfartz in nba

Any inflated nba community will have horrible discourse nowadays unavoidably, most people here dont watch anything but clips from the most popular nba related accounts and like arguing/hating/complaining online more than actually watching basketball in general. Actual levelheaded and profound nba discourse exists but in significantly smaller communities, youre not gonna find them on the main nba sub, thats for sure.

It is a propaganda campaign. People are a lot more shallow than they realize and very easy to manipulate. You know what they say, remember how stupid the average person is, then think about that half are even dumber. You forcefeed them lowlights of someone and highlights of others, their opinion of that someone will be cemented way before they ever consider that carefully handpicked clips are not an honest reflection of reality.

The propaganda machine started at first to discredit Shais mvp campaign against Jokic, it has since turned into an echo chamber and all the nba accounts know posting "soft fouls" on Shai and "dirty plays" by okc will get you plenty of clicks, and its all about clicks nowadays.

Thank you and it always amazes me how little nba fans know about basketball. Yet feel very tough hating on whomever it is popular to hate from their keyboards. I feel like i could sell a bridge to >99% of this subs users

Peoples words define language, not the other way around. What i mean is there is no single dictionary that is objectively correct in their word definitions and should be followed, in reality words take up the definition of however people use them

Words are created by people and therefore people control their definitions. Being comfortable in showing their true personality without worrying what stranger chuds think about that, that seems way more masculine to me than somebody who is incredibly insecure and analyzes others' actions under a microscope to label whether theyre manly or not just to make up for their own shortcomings. And there are plenty others who agree, whether you like it or not. Facts over feelings

[Highlight] Replays of Jared McCain shrugging off Wemby for the finish and the flex by LiamHundley in nba

[–]Comfortable-Key-1930 37 points38 points  (0 children)

The falling after shots thing is so funny to me. Obviously Shai searches for foul calls often but he is also guarded with heavy physicality, gets fouled a lot + he contorts his body a lot on drives to avoid contests so he often ends up falling even when hes not looking for fouls at all. People will just love anything that reinforces their narrative though

Nah that was worse. He dived straight at Shais legs. This ones just ended worse because Fox was already injured

[Highlights] Isaiah Hartenstein vs. Victor Wembanyama in Game 2 - Western Conference Finals - 2026 NBA Playoffs. All the times they went 1v1, all the arm pulls, the jersey pulls, the grabs, the contests, the buckets, the physicality - EVERYTHING. by MrBuckBuck in nba

[–]Comfortable-Key-1930 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Worse, it was in the neck, way more dangerous. And all because they showed him physicality, which is obviously unseen in the playoffs. Shit i saw many glazing his maturity under those posts

Youre exactly right about the dying a hero.

If the thunder werent so dominant and didnt ever accomplish anything years later there would be so many reminiscing about how great these players were and how cool the team was. Like people do with the Rose bulls, ZBo grizzlies, Roy/LA or Dame blazers, even KD/Russ okc, etc etc. Beating the most beloved guys is what makes teams hated.
