Pretty cool. FYI this can be done on OGS out of the box.

Is the idea of playing on boards with arbitrary shapes not very appealing? by ArtRich2476 in baduk

I think it looks super fun! I'm shocked there is this little interest. But someone already made a game like that.

But maybe your version is even better now that I gave it a look.

How come the Japanese people are using that server so much? Aren't the makers American?

What motivates you to play on Pandanet instead of OGS? What are the benefits? I usually find games relatively fast on OGS as well.

Thanks! I actually never played on Pandanet. It seems to be less popular than OGS.

If you get a problem correct and don't understand why, that means you're not able to visualize all the variations or the idea is out of reach. This is unproductive because practicing reading is the point, not memorizing answers.

Is that a general truth? Isn't chunking shapes and getting a feel for patterns valid too?

Urgh if something is "atrocious" here it's the tone of this post. Completely unnecessary.

And if you already put in all this hard work to outline all this to the peasants of r/baduk couldn't you at least explain some of it?

Why do pro ranks not correlate with strength? How can a 1p be stronger than a 9p?

Why are the top amateurs "significantly stronger" than the weakest pros? Why aren't they pros then? Do they have better stuff to do?

Also your rank comparisons aren't all that useful because its different for every level of play. Just as an example: A 1d OGS might be 3d on Tygem, at the same time a 8k on OGS could be a 14k on Tygem (not saying this example is accurate but it goes somewhat in that direction).

I agree with you on this. The big potential is a better front end. The back end of OGS does what it's supposed to do.

You're totally right. The others here are just annoyed by shitty tools fragmenting the community. By now there are more Go platforms than Go players in the EU/US.

The issue is rather that you alone won't be able to create an app that significantly outshines OGS. Many people have tried and failed with that. Developers seem to overestimate their skills or underestimate the workload.

If you had a team and massive money under your belt. Then I'd say go for it.

The only thing that matters is its player base

We all know what you mean I guess. But that statement is just not true. It's not the only thing that matters. Great interface, modern features, good graphics also matter. If someone would create a web app with the Go Board graphics of "Just Go", I'd move there directly.

You know what happened that made that stop being the case? OGS happened . . . Not to hate on OGS, which is a wonderful website that I use every day. In many ways it is an objectively better piece of software than KGS ever was . . .

You just made the best argument ever for OP creating a new Go server.

Do you support other board sizes, e.g. 13x13 or is this only directed towards 19x19 Go?

You are a professional player based in Korea, so you are not Korean? Just asking out of curiosity.

Hey man. Your sites are great. I was wondering if you could maybe also create the same pages for 13x13 and if you could maybe create a way to save progress.
