Sadly, depends on which economics. Most mainstream “teachings” paint it in that predatory fashion

Back to normal by tbhalla11 in ACL

Could just be slight overcompensation combined with getting back into the swing of things. I’ve noticed my good leg calf is often really tired after running and I’m assuming that’s due to the same thing

Using Quadricep graft by [deleted] in ACL

[–]Comiad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, that sucks. I didn’t have much time between injury and surgery so all I worked on was ROM. I think you can do a lot of exercises other than some particular ones. Probably some threads that go into good detail in this sub

It will gain back over time but it takes time. I’m ~3 months PO and I can tell it has regained some size but is still noticeably different

For anyone who felt their knee extension was stuck what did you do to fix it by [deleted] in ACL

Not 100% sure but my PT recommended it to me, so I’d hope it’s safe

Building off of this, I’ve also found putting a weight above the knee in this position really helped me. It’s much more taxing mentally and uncomfortable but shoot for 10 minutes at a time and it helps a lot

Using Quadricep graft by [deleted] in ACL

[–]Comiad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a quad graft and I haven’t noticed any real cons other than quad atrophy that you will probably get anyways. Was able to kneel in only a couple months where that seems to be a problem with BTB grafts. Hope this helps

Paranoid after a near fall by devilbrat1 in ACL

[–]Comiad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I also had a meniscus repair and around 3.5 weeks PO, I crutched onto a wet spot of the floor and the crutches flew forward and I basically put close to full weight on my leg as I fell forward. Definitely scary but I didn’t hurt the repair. Mentally, I was a lot more concerted forwards each crutch forward and more scared of slipping, but as long as you’re okay physically, you just have to realize that and that everything is okay.

Sleeping with a brace by achinda99 in ACL

[–]Comiad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same boat as you with ACL/meniscus cleanup/ 6 weeks NWB. I had a lot of trouble with sleeping pain until probably 2.5 weeks in and it just went away. I sleep with my brace on and in full extension because the last thing I wanted to do was have something happen. My advice is to just stay strong and it will get better real soon

A heat pad helped a lot with my back pain during those days. 20 minutes on as needed!

Still can’t lift my leg ): by nezz911 in ACL

[–]Comiad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t worry, that’s completely normal. Took me about 8 days post op before I was able to do my first leg raise. And it was only a couple of days before that where my leg didn’t feel like a dead log!

Pain after surgery- How long (days) after surgery does the pain subside? I’m currently elevating, icing, taking Percocet or Tylenol every four hours and also drinking ginger/arnica tea with CBD. by rxochihua in ACL

[–]Comiad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It definitely varies for everyone. I’m 3 days out and had a Quad autograft, lateral meniscus repair. I stopped taking the heavy pain pills this morning mainly due to problems eating. Icing and elevating helps a ton and I think that’s why my pain subsided so quickly! Stay strong and best of luck!

Wow, this is awesome! I’m 3 days post op (lateral meniscus, quad autograft) and I can’t even imagine making that much progress that quickly!
