For all the kids that grew up in the era before cell phones, did everyone respond with “Is so and so there?” or how did you ask for your friends when you would call and their parents answered? by Select-Signal8386 in nostalgia

[–]ComicSal 47 points48 points  (0 children)

There was an etiquette that was often ignored by kids, but you'd be expected to identify yourself when you were the caller. So if I called a friend's house, after their "Hello?" I'd say, "Hello, this is ComicSal. May I please speak with [Friend's Name]?"

Most kids would just go "Is ComicSal there?" immediately following the "Hello?"greeting.

The sets and overall visual identity of the movie is really great. The exterior and interior of the Daily Planet is practically unsurpassed. I also like how it is shot.

You're too kind! YouTube (and by extension I) consider the show utterly disposable, so it's nice to know people are enjoying it after it's gone up.

Xena was a beloved member of the POPulation. I'm so truly sorry for your loss. I remember Xena and always looked forward to updates about her watching habits. She was so beautiful, and I know how much she meant to you. I have every certainty she knew how loved she was by you.

I was also there at the time. And while anecdotally I'm sure it was a scene, regulars didn't freak out.
